"In 2018, USCIS revised its policy regarding the extent to which a Form I-693 retains its evidentiary value. This policy is effective November 1, 2018. Before November 1, 2018, the validity period policy provided Form I-693 retained its evidentiary value as long as it was submitted to USCIS within 1 year of the civil surgeon’s signature and USCIS issued a final decision on the underlying immigration benefit application within a year of the Form I-693’s submission to USCIS. This policy contained a maximum 2-year period during which Form I-693 retained its evidentiary value.

Due to increasing caseloads and more complex adjudications, USCIS observed an increasing number of cases where benefit applications could not be decided within 1 year from the date the Form I-693 was submitted. In these cases, USCIS would have to request a new Form I-693, further delaying the processing of the underlying application and inconveniencing the applicant."

I came here as K1 visa. But before other people told me I don’t need to summit a new medical test even it is over 1 year. So which one is true now?

Can anyone tell me do I need to get a new medical test ? I did my medical test on March,2018. Now it is over a year now.

Before I asked people here and Lizz told me I don’t need a new one. But couple days ago I saw someone needed to do a new medical test. I am confused.

Does anyone know ? Thanks

I think nobody can tell you what they really want, it depends to the officer, I had my medical test in January 2018 and my interview was this year on March, I wasn't required another medical test. Your medical test supposes to be good for one year and if you file within that year you shouldn't have any issues. I guess there are some officers just trying to make things harder. You just need to give them whatever they want.

So my green card was approved may 29 and I never received it. The post office pretty much admitted also that it was misdelivered since the regular carrier wasn’t working on the day it said it was delivered. I was pretty bummed to say the least that I have to pay over $500 and wait over 6 months to get a new one. I decided to file the replacement under “issued but never received” where the fee is waived. I know you can only file under it when the card has been returned to USCIS as undeliverable but i still went with it.I got my new biometrics appointment couple of days later and went to get a i-551 stamp to my passport. Luckily they didn’t ask any questions about my replacement being filed under this category and I got my stamp for a year and can travel now. Most likely they will still deny

my application in the end, but atleast I won myself some time 🙄

You have to pay 500$ for a new green card? That is so much..
