So I had my interview yesterday, exactly one year apart from my PD.

The interview was a pretty bad experience to be honest, we didn’t had as much supporting documents as we would have liked.  By the end the IO told us that the case needs further review and she doesn’t know if our supporting documents are sufficient enough. I almost cried on our way home but as soon as I laid down I got a notice that new card is in production. I’m still having a hard time believing it but I guess it’s finally done 😀🎉

Thank you so much everyone for your wishes. Means alot.

So here's my interviews experience

I had my first interview on feb 24th 2019. Interviewer asked the same  basic questions how you met, where u met, why u decided to get married how you knew each other.  He asked if we want to show him any docs for proof. So we showed him our joint taxes, phone plans, affidavit from friends and family, our pics together from wedding and from some other occasions and house lease with both of our names on it.

Then he asked us about the joint account that we didn't had at that time. So that was it from the first interview. It was almost 20 minutes long.

Then after 2 months we got a letter for a second interview. I was surprised to see that cause i thought our first interview just went fine but then why the second but anyways then on May 24th we had our 2nd interview.

Interview was scheduled at 10 o'clock but we had to wait almost 1 hour for our turn. It wasn't busy but still we had to wait this long. At almost 11 o'clock the same IO that we had last time came in and called my name and told us that he just want me to come with him first. So at that time i was sure that its gonna be a stokes interview. When we reached his office i asked him that why a 2nd interview he told me that its just normal to have 2nd interview sometimes people even have 3 interviews and i was like 3 interviews thats alot he smiled and said yes it help us to understand the cases and to make a right decision. I was like okay good. Then we talked about game of thrones and its ending. That was so random i know :p. Anyways then he asked me if I've something to show i gave him our joint account statements, utility bills , joint credit cards, auto insurance together, and a few more docs. Then he asked me if I've started driving i said yes he asked how's it going i told him that its good even I told him that i got a ticket last week because my tail light was not working he said oh be careful and never over speed cause then you'll get a ticket and it will be expensive one. Then he said okay so now I'm gonna ask you afew questions.  So he said its gonna be video taped so he started and asked me the first question and it was what is truth? I was like truth is truth 😛 he said no define truth then i defined truth. Then he asked what is benefit? I was like what kinda questions are these but anyways i answered. Then he asked is green card a good thing or bad or neither i was like i don't know if its a good or bad its just like if it helps me to be with my husband then its a good thing else its just a thing 😛 then he asked about what i did last night , what i had in my dinner , who woke up first this morning , who took shower this morning, how we met , why we met how we know each other and thats all then he  escorted me to the waiting area and said i hope there are more people now so that you don't have to sit alone because before that it was just me and my husband in the waiting area and one more couple. So i was like i hope so.

Then he asked the same questions from my husband. So we almost had the same answers. So at the end he came in the waiting area to give back a few docs and said that we'll have the decison in our mail in next few days.

So on may 28th we gotthe update on our case that new card is being produced and case is approved.

So finallyy its done yaayyyyyyyy

Did they say why you got a second interview? It is a bit strange? Do you have huge age gap? Or anything unusual in your relationship?

But congratulations!!!

Hi everyone. So I got my interview on May 31st, 2019. The interview went fine, but I got a request for additional evidence for my medical. I had my complete medical in London in February 2018 and submitted it with my I-485 application. The officer said I need to get a new one, as it's been more than 1 year since I had it done and it's now expired. He said that after they receive the new medical he'll approve us.

So heads up if you are in the same boat. Check your medical and do a new one before your interview.

"In 2018, USCIS revised its policy regarding the extent to which a Form I-693 retains its evidentiary value. This policy is effective November 1, 2018. Before November 1, 2018, the validity period policy provided Form I-693 retained its evidentiary value as long as it was submitted to USCIS within 1 year of the civil surgeon’s signature and USCIS issued a final decision on the underlying immigration benefit application within a year of the Form I-693’s submission to USCIS. This policy contained a maximum 2-year period during which Form I-693 retained its evidentiary value.

Due to increasing caseloads and more complex adjudications, USCIS observed an increasing number of cases where benefit applications could not be decided within 1 year from the date the Form I-693 was submitted. In these cases, USCIS would have to request a new Form I-693, further delaying the processing of the underlying application and inconveniencing the applicant."
