Did you ever use AP ?

Congratulations! I have waited 11 months now, still nothing....

No, we didn't, although we planned to use it (our December trip was cancelled). But that was the whole reason we applied for it, was to use it. If you search the forums here, there are lots of people who use it successfully. Some people bring a lot of evidence of their ongoing petition and marriage certificates, etc.

I am sorry that you are still waiting. I really did not expect getting noticed for our interview. I expected the ATL office to take much longer, so maybe yours will be right around the corner?

Yes, we filed taxes this year married & jointly. I brought the federal tax return to the interview, but I gave it to her as proof of our residence and not part of the financial support. I brought our copy of the AoS packet with all forms updated to reflect current financials and they didn't ask for any of it! I think I had about 8-10 photos of us and my family - from the wedding and holidays. I wrote all the info/dates on the back and she looked through them.

Hi all - we had our interview yesterday (11 months after filing for AoS) and we were approved. I think we were in there for less than ten minutes. Our interviewer wanted to know if we had met each others' parents, and she asked my husband to clarify his military service and weapons training, and if we had any evidence of ongoing relationship and that was it! She was very nice and professional. Right after we left, we got the notification that our card was being produced.

Now I've got RoC on my mind...:jest:

Congratulations to both of you, I am pleased everything went well, it has been a long journey for all of us. we have our interview in 12 days time, hopefully ours will only take 10 minutes!

It is. I used it in December and I had no problems. Had basic documents like marriage certificate and AOS NOA1 with me but they didn’t even ask for any evidence at the airport (JFK). They just verified my passport and AP card in the systems which took them less than 10 minutes and we were good to go. Only negative thing is you have to go through non USA residents lines which took forever as always.

I had my round trip itinerary with me but as I said before they didn’t want anything upon my return, neither departure from US. When you go outside US border US immigration doesn’t care. They ask questions when you return ;)

They only problem I encountered was on my return trip, trouble with online check in bcs airline wanted my green card or visa number. I have chosen visa and typed AP number, explained this in a bag drop point and they knew what I’m talking about. So not a big deal

I used it once and I already knew I would go to secondary. But it was at west palm beach port since I was at Bahamas cruise. So initially they asked me a couple of questions like what I do for work and so and then told me you’re not in trouble but you need a special stamp in your passport so they took me in the back. I waited for 5 minutes and was also asked some basic questions and then they stamped my passport and I was good to go.

The only time I actually worried was when I was checking in to my cruise. I gave the lady just

my passport at first and she was like umm when did you enter this country (i was an esta overstay) I then flipped out my EAD card (i wasnt sure at first what they would be looking for) and said this card allows me to reenter USA. She was looking at it and was like well the only thing I can see is that you have a work permit 😂 I was like well it does say in the bottom that it also serves as an advanced parole

but she probably had no idea what I was talking about. So she went to talk to her supervisor and all was good.

Hello everyone,

we need your help and advice, my mother in law is sick and my wife needs to go visit her. We are planning to submit  an AP with medical letter from the hospital to expedite the process. what is the fastest way to get it approved. can we go to the field office and submitted there? some online blogs states that we can go to the field office and submit all documents and they can grant it on the same day, is this true? Also how long is she allowed to stay out of USA on AP?

Thank you.

Yes, I read something like that too, when is a emergency you can go to your local office and I think they stamp your passport or they give you a letter.
