Hello guys, I am also a May filer.  Last week received a text/message regarding my NOA1 (Priority date: May 17).

A question! Please advise if you know if there is a way to expedite EAD. In case I have a job offer from the employer, can it serve as a solid ground for expedite? I have read the criteria (financial loss, emergency, etc.) I assume getting a job offer doesn't qualify under any category. Anyway, do you have any thoughts with this regard?

Thanks

Sona

And one more thing, has anyone applied for SSN separately (I mean in the Social security Administration). I applied for it on 26 of April, was told that it would take 2-4 weeks to get SSN. Today marks the 4th week, and still no news. Has anyone applied for SSN and got it?

My husband applied and received his 10 days after but this can differ depending on the state you live.

My husband and I sent his AOS package today.  It's going to arrive at the Chicago Lock Box tomorrow morning.  We didn't apply for his EAD/AP at the same time as the the AOS because we got confused about the instructions.  Hopefully we can use the NOA1 to apply for EAD without paying another $410 :(.  Anyways, I hope we are still able to be considered May filers but I might have to move over to June if it takes a while to get the NOA1?

Can anyone give advice on how applying for an SSN works?  Do you have to wait until the EAD is approved and received and can the SSN be acquired before that.

Yay, another July-er! I bet you'll get your NOA1 soon. Ours was delivered on May 11th and our notice date was just a few days later. We applied for the SSN on the EAD form. There's a place you can check to request it. I'm not sure how to do it the other way.

You need to go to the Social Security Administration and apply for it. All you need to take is passport and form i-94. Yes, you can request your SSN together with your EAD, but SSN can be issued earlier. Even though I applied 4 weeks ago, it hasn't been issued yet. Hopefully, next week.

We have a letter on USPS Informed Delivery from the Department of Homeland Security National Benefits Center. Is that our biometrics letter?

If so... one problem. We are moving from Maine to Washington state this Saturday. If I change our address now, will that totally screw us?

Biometrics letters come very quickly, sometimes at the same time as NOA 1 letters, sometimes it's a couple of days, sometimes a week, occasionally longer so it's a good chance they are biometrics letters. Mine came a couple days after NOA1 letters.

AOS:          Received Date:  April 2      NOA 1:  April 5 2018
Biometrics:  April 27  Fingerprint Review Was Completed:  April 30
Case Ready to be scheduled: May 3
( that update only showed up in August! after being notified about EAD&AP )
EAD&AP  We approved your case:  August 8   /  In the mailbox:  August 16 2018

Do they update the status right away when they sent biometrics letter?
