I had my interview last week and the officer was not very informed about my case she said it was very confusing and yes it is, but we’re interviewed me and wife  (derivative) all the yes / no questions, how  We met, where, She kept photos where we’re with our children, saw the marriage certificate etc ... in the end she only said that on Fridays they reviewed the cases that they could not solve during the week and that was all, she did not give me any paper. and so far nothing my status keeps saying that the interview was scheduled.

Why is it confusing?

I went from f2b to f3 family base category, I have the 245(i)  and also my wife is using my 245(i) ( as after aquaire) and Im using cross-chargeability (Im from Mexico and my wife is from Venezuela) which no all of the IO’s are aware of it, They does not know what is about. I explain everything in the cover letter, So hopefully they figure out my case soon.

Hello, do you need to redo your medical test? I am very confused. Because I know medical test is only valid for a year, so after a year if I still didn’t have my interview, I need to redo it?

I don't have to redo mine because I´m still in time.

To be honest, I´m not sure... I always thought that it´s valid for a year and you have to redo it if your interview is later. But if you look at what @LizM posted you are ok if you´ve filed your I-485 within a year.

When is your interview? Will your medical test over 1 year by then?

Let me know if they ask you to redo it, thanks!

Our medical test was done over a year ago but we did not have to redo it.

Hi  Guys!! had our interview on the 10th and we were approved on the spot! Our interview went very nice. The officer asked several questions:

Tell me about how you guys met ? When where and why?

Have you met each other's family? Do our mothers get along?

how many kids do you have? were you married before? and she went into detail on my husbands kid, how old? does he see him? where does he live? does he provide child support? hows hes relationship with the mother?

The no questions on the i-485

She requested proof of relationship: We handed her all bills (Rental agreement, electric and gas, water, trash, sewer, bank account, life, dental, health, vision, car insurance, and car registration. and she reviewed them asked if we had anything else...and we handed her all of our amusement park passes( disney, six flags, universal studios, and seaworld) with that she kind of smiled and brought out the conversation about the parks.

and she hit us with a curb ball and started to talk about my past immigration incidents I had which caught me by surprise and she saw my expression and said" what? your husband doesn't know?" I said yes he does just didn't know that was going to be brought up and she asked my husband if he knew and what were the incidents. My husband responded

After she started to  explained how to remove the condition on the green card and that in 2022 my husband could apply to become a US citizen. and my husband asked " we are approved then?" she said yes and told us to expect the green card within 3 weeks. She also said not to cross the border or travel until he had the green card in he's hand. because EAD/AP are no longer valid because hes status changed.

and on the 16th card was picked up by usps and will be arriving here today according to the tracking :)

Thank you all for traveling this journey with us!! and good luck!! :)

Congratulations on your successful GC interview.

Our interview is on February 22 and I was wondering if you went for another medical exam in the US before the interview? Also, did you do another affidavit of support along with a new letter from employers, pay stubs etc?

I know the USCIS says that if you had a medical done before coming to the US and filed within 1 year then it’s still valid.

Could you please shed some light on that if possible?

Hey I had my interview January 22nd and was approved! Filed and of March 2018. My medical was August 2017. It never was mentioned at the interview. I filed for AOS within one year of my medical so i was ok. If you have filed for AOS within one year of receiving your medical back in your home country for the k1 visa, and you were not missing any vaccinations then you should be ok. :)

I also had the same question when I had my interview last December 21. I filed my AOS on May 2018. Got here in February. My medical was expiring 01/2019. But the officer did not request for another medical.

Our interview was a little sad cause the officer told us that he cannot sign it off since our file is not part of is jurisdiction (Lived in sfo but filed in sacramento where my partner's parents' house is)... to make it short, the interviewer said NO. So we expect that I will have to wait for months again for an interview in sfo. But after three days, my status on the app and USCIS website has been changed to Card has been mailed.

Was so happy and received the green card after 1 week. :)

So tip, be strong and be ready cause the IO's goal is to intimidate you. :)

Good luck everyone and god bless! <3
