Do you live in Houston? Omg, did you use IAH?? that's where my hubby will be coming back!! I really hope he doesn't get stuck in immigration in mexico.

Did your husband go with you?

Really calming to know of recent stories of AP, since it will be his first time using AP and i won't come with, we are very nervous/worried of the slightest errors..

Fingers crossed his flight is in 19 days..

No, we live in North Indiana but we took the connection there in IAH, my husband was with me but I went first, when they took me to the second security check the other guy told my husband they always do that and they always will till I have my green card.

It wasn't bad though, the guy asked me how I got the combo card and if my husband was US citizen. And then he let me go. I was worried about using the AP too but it was smooth. They did asked me for a letter, I said I didn't have one but I had the one I got from uscis and the guy said the combo card was enough.

Haha I was like that too when they asked me. The first time going out from my country and then at IAH, they both asked for a letter. the girl in my country showed me one with a picture (idk if it's an old thing or what) but they were okay with only the combo card at the end.

They didn't ask for anything else, but I was prepared too, I took all my documents just in case.

We still have not received the EAD/AP card.  More than 20 days after we received our letter of approval.  I wonder if this is normal or not.

Another update: we still have not received the EAD card, and our status on MyUSCIS has not changed at all. The EAD approval letter was dated October 25, but no card has been produced yet I guess. I called USCIS and the Tier 2 officer had no helpful information. I wonder when we'll get that darn card. It's taking forever.

For anyone who wanted an update:

In November, after our date had passed on the website, we filed an inquiry. According to the website, it was never assigned to anyone. Once the date for the inquiry response passed in December, we filed an expedited inquiry through the Tier 2 customer support. It was answered on December 8th. On Friday, December 14th, our case status online changed to approved for both the EAD and AP cases. Friday night, it changed to "Your card has been mailed" with a tracking number that says my husband's documents will arrive by Monday. I am very glad our case was finally resolved after so long waiting.

I will say that there was one thing that was weird - at one point they texted that "My Card Had Been Mailed to Me" but the date was in October. I am sure they just put the date in wrong, or someone pushed the wrong button, but what if we were actually approved in October and they just never finished the final steps to send our card? I feel like USCIS needs to be more transparent about who is working on our case and what they're actually doing with it. Transparency would make them more accountable. At any rate, information should be more available. I already mentioned in previous posts the lies they tried to tell us at Tier 1 support about our case. They also tried to lie to DH as well for Tier 2 when he called, but thankfully he called them out on it and got them to commit to the expedited inquiry.

Now we wait for the green card interview :) Best of luck to all.

Hi guys, so I am a May filer.

Just want to share what I have done getting a notification from USCIS to have an interview. It just took me 5 days to get a response from them. I sent an inquiry asking them to help me update what is going on with my case. I filled out the inquiry form and after filling out there was a receipt for the service request and telling me that they will get back to me on December 2. But Just November 13 came , (actually submitted the inquiry on November 9) I received a notification that my interview is scheduled for December 21st.

Just ty guys to ask.

;) it might work.

Hey all, I'm a June filer (damned imposter)! I'm coming here to see if anyone in the LA office has seen any movement? Our case status changed to Ready to be scheduled for an interview 159 days ago and I'm hoping to travel home to England by April/May, so I'm searching for hope that I'll have my green card by then. I hope y'all May filers are well, and happy New Year!!

Looking at your timeline, it would seem you didn't apply for AP?
This is why it is recommended to just do that since the application is free with AOS.

Depending on what exactly your LA office is, you might be in for the long run
those in the San Fernando area are looking at a year plus from filing.
LA has many offices. Use the USCIS local office locator based on zip code to see which office is yours. Then look at VJ's AOS timelines. That's a bit more accurate to see how long people are waiting for interviews.

Good luck!
