I received my EAD card on Wednesday 10/06 and I just picked up my SSN card from my mailbox! So only three days later 😊 Ofc it’s different for everyone, usually max in two weeks

Hello everyone,

we received my wife’s EAD and we went to the DMV to apply for her drivers license and everything went okay until they tried to validate the card. They get a message “card not authenticated” the lady tried all different computers they have but all getting the same error. They told us when need to contact immigration. Anyone experienced this before??

Maybe wait a couple more days? Does she already have ssn? Maybe get that first?

 

Hubby got his DL oct.5 with his ssn, no problems.

9/19/2018 EAD/AP approved

She already have her SSN. We are going to try a different DMV office today. I read online that some offices machine can’t scan new passport so I wonder if this is happening with the EAD cards. They told us something could be wrong with the card which I doubt it.

Yes, try going to a different DMV. You may have better luck that way. I got my DL last year with only my receipt notice, passport and utility bills, but of course different states may have different requirements/procedures.

TIMELINE FOR AOS from B1/B2 visa

 

05/21/2018 – Sent I-485, I-765 and I-131 packets via Fedex (Chicago Lockbox)
05/23/2018 – Packet delivered to USCIS (0 days).
05/29/2018 – Received text/email notification NOA1 (6 days)
06/08/2018 – Received biometrics appointment letter/I-797C hardcopy in mail (16 days). Priority Date on NOA says 06/01/18.

06/18/2018 – Biometrics done (26 days)

06/21/2018 – Case status changed to "Case is Ready to be scheduled for an interview" (29 days)

06/22/2018 – Courtesy letter (reminder to bring I-693 medical report to interview) received in mail (30 days). Letter dated 06/14/18

 

07/10/2018 – Submitted change of address
07/14/2018 – Email from USCIS confirming successful change of address

 

09/15/2018 – Online status changed to "Approved" for I-765
09/17/2018 - Received I-797 (NOA) hardcopy of approved I-765 in mail

09/18/2018 – Online status changed to "New card is being produced" for I-765

09/26/2018 – Received EAD/AP card in mail. No online or text updates received.

 

09/27/2018 – Applied for SSN at SSA (in person)
10/05/2018 – Received SS card in mail

 

06/25/2019 – Received email notification that case status has changed to "Interview was Scheduled" (400 days)

07/03/2019 – Received hardcopy of notice for interview (note: letter was sent to my old address, and was forwarded to my new address)

07/29/2019 – Interview held @ Sacramento office (1045hrs)
07/29/2019 – Case status changed to "Initial Review" (2100hrs)
07/30/2019 – Case status changed to "Card/Document Production" (0100 hrs)
08/01/2019 – Case status changed to "Card was mailed to me"
08/02/2019 – AOS approval notice received in mail

Okay, we went to a different DMV office yesterday and the same happened there. the lady said when they try to verify the EAD card they get no authentication message and we asked what does that mean she said it could be because the card is new and the information is not in the system yet and she said to wait up to 30 days. so we don't understand how UCSIS issue a card and the information is not uploaded in the system yet. any advises? anyone here went to get their license few days after they received the EAD card?

My hubbys ead was approved sep19, we got the actual card sept 27, went to SSA sep29. Got SSC oct1. Went to get DL oct.4, he got his temporary license with no questions asked.

We are so frustrated. We even asked the lady if something wrong with the card and she said no. the other solution is to apply for the DL and they give us a phone number to call and setup an appointment with an investigator to verify the card is good but she said it will take 6 months or more. We are going to call USCIS today and ask if what they said is true regarding the information not in the database yet.

I applied for my SSN and its been over 2 weeks and havent received yet. No one is picking call at SSA. Cant make multiple trips...what to do?
