MAY 2018 AOS Filers

I am the US Citizen, was Married 5/03. Changed my name with SS office to my  husbands last name on 5/15. In filling out my name on the AOS documents do I use my new last name or my former last name (that was used during the whole k-1 process)

I think you should use the married name because what you put on your forms will be on your green card.

Chicago office received our docs 2 days ago. Our office will be Newark NJ, AOS based on USC marriage. This journey just starts, good luck to everybody

We got our NOA1 in the mail yesterday dated 5/15/2018. Time to sit back and hope for EAD/AP processing to speed up for us all

Evening all,

I tried going online reviewing on the uscis website but the question I need assurance with I could not find a specific answer for.

I'm probably reading more into the question then I need too but I want to try to avoid mistakes if possible.

 

My my question is, on the AOS application: I 485 Part 6 Page 8 Information About Your Children

I am the US citizen my husband is the "applicant" and we do not have children together. He has no kids from a previous relationship. I have two kids. So does he need to include them in this section. I know they are his step kids but I didn't know if they meant his actual step children; say for instance from a previous relation(which he do not have). I appreciate any assistance provided.

I'm seeing a lot of people who sent their AOS packet on 5/11, and got their NOA1 on the 18th. I sent mine on 5/11, my check was cashed on the 18th, but no text or email. I know its only been two extra days and I'm sure itll come soon, but you know this process can be overwhelming so I'm worried a tad bit. :/

I sent my AOS packet on the 8th and got no text/email, but a letter in the mail yesterday with a NOA1. So don't worry! Maybe it's the same for you

That section is information about your beneficiary. If he doesn't have children, leave it blank. Don't worry, it's easy to overthink that form

Oh duh, I just realized my mistake. I can't read, sorry  The advice is the same, though - use your married name on the forms. It's your legal name now, not your maiden.
