Correct. I only ever got status updates for my EAD. My AP case still shows "Case was received".

 

I got my EAD combo card in the mail earlier this week (which will show that it also serves as an Advance Parole).

TIMELINE FOR AOS from B1/B2 visa

 

05/21/2018 – Sent I-485, I-765 and I-131 packets via Fedex (Chicago Lockbox)
05/23/2018 – Packet delivered to USCIS (0 days).
05/29/2018 – Received text/email notification NOA1 (6 days)
06/08/2018 – Received biometrics appointment letter/I-797C hardcopy in mail (16 days). Priority Date on NOA says 06/01/18.

06/18/2018 – Biometrics done (26 days)

06/21/2018 – Case status changed to "Case is Ready to be scheduled for an interview" (29 days)

06/22/2018 – Courtesy letter (reminder to bring I-693 medical report to interview) received in mail (30 days). Letter dated 06/14/18

 

07/10/2018 – Submitted change of address
07/14/2018 – Email from USCIS confirming successful change of address

 

09/15/2018 – Online status changed to "Approved" for I-765
09/17/2018 - Received I-797 (NOA) hardcopy of approved I-765 in mail

yesssss! that's awesome!! Our NOA1 was 5/24 and we just got the "new card is being produced" update for the Employment Authorization but the status for the AP remained the same. So that's good to know, thank you!

It took 2 days for me. After 2 days the status changed from "new card being produced" to "the card was mailed".   I got a combo card today and it still doesn't show any update for AP only updates for EAD

wow! that's incredible. Quick question, do they send your SS card also? or do we need to do that separately?

I requested they issue a SS card when we sent in the application.

We went to SSA office and applied but they said that somebody else already applied on behalf of my hubby, so we got the number then and there but the actual card will be sent in 2 weeks..

 

Just hoping that since we answered "no" to the first time ss# is produced tbat it won't be seen as misrepresentation since it was our first time asking for a ssn but I guess nbc might have asked for it when the ead was approved. 

 

The SSA officer said someone made/asked for a new SSN for my hubby the same day his ead/ap was approved but we didn't know that until after the "interview" 

 

So, if you will go to the SSA let them know that you might already have because you did ask it in the aos packet.

I did not request for an SSN in the initial AOS application since I like to keep things separate, just-in-case.

 

After I got my EAD card I went to SSA the next morning to apply for an SSN. I'm now waiting for the card to come in the mail (I was told it normally takes about 2 weeks).
