An RFE pauses ur case for EAD/AP
They can't proceed with anything until you give them what they want. Keep in mind the same NBC that looks at EAD/AP are the ones looking at your initial AOS packet.

The letter coming in the mail will tell you EXACTLY what you need.

According to the USCIS website, the wait time reported for AOS at the Portland branch is 8.5-15.5 months, so I guess we got lucky!

I got a rfie the first month it took like 9 days then the status changed to "we received your response... We are gonna start working on your case again" that was on June.. I haven't heard anything since then.

Finally got a "card is being produced" notification today after 143 days. So happy, but oof that really felt like an eternity towards the end. Really hoping for you all to receive your EAD/AP cards soon!

Im excited guys! The USCIS Officer told me that with the RFE it only pauses my 485 form not my EAD/AP because they are different cases. My 485 is in San Diego and my EAD/AP are in NBC office. Soo thats partial good news!! Seeing the cup half full!! 😁😁🙏🏼 Congrats too all that is getting interviews and EAD/AP cards!! Wujuu!! May!!

How long did it take for them to mail your card after the status said "new card being produced"?

Also, if you applied for Advanced Parole as well, how long does that take? Do they approve or deny both together?

Mine took just under 2 weeks from card production to getting the card in the mail.

 

If you applied EAD and AP together, it would arrive as a combo card. 

 

Not sure if just a standalone AP (without EAD) maybe someone can shed some light on this?

 

 

TIMELINE FOR AOS from B1/B2 visa

 

05/21/2018 – Sent I-485, I-765 and I-131 packets via Fedex (Chicago Lockbox)
05/23/2018 – Packet delivered to USCIS (0 days).
05/29/2018 – Received text/email notification NOA1 (6 days)
06/08/2018 – Received biometrics appointment letter/I-797C hardcopy in mail (16 days). Priority Date on NOA says 06/01/18.

06/18/2018 – Biometrics done (26 days)

06/21/2018 – Case status changed to "Case is Ready to be scheduled for an interview" (29 days)

06/22/2018 – Courtesy letter (reminder to bring I-693 medical report to interview) received in mail (30 days). Letter dated 06/14/18

 

07/10/2018 – Submitted change of address
07/14/2018 – Email from USCIS confirming successful change of address

 

09/15/2018 – Online status changed to "Approved" for I-765
09/17/2018 - Received I-797 (NOA) hardcopy of approved I-765 in mail
