I know we all are impatiently waiting but I’m not sure if it’s justified to get angry on later filers lol. Although it is true that they go by the priority date, there are two other things that are crucial based on my understanding as well as what one of the level 1 support staff told me: one major factor in all of this is that they look at your country of origin and/or where your passport is from as well as your local office and how busy it is. So currently, the most scrutinized nations are in the following order:

1) Mexico

2) China

3) India

These are obviously due to the high immigration numbers from these nations so we can expect delays is what they say. But that’s just my understanding so we don’t know what happens behind the scenes.

My PD is May 24.

I did AOS from F-1 student visa, not K-1.

I really hope i hear from them soon.. i am ready to wait for the GC since I know Houston FO is one of the slowest FO, but I really need the ead/ap..

My PD is before you so I kinda feel loke I was skipped but Im definitely not angry at you. Just can't help the feeling, you know?

But no sense in whining, ill just wait.. wish me good news soon!!

AOS from h2a visa, marriage based.

Yeah I guess it all depends on how USCIS sees it. It’s one of the most unpredictable government agencies there is lol. If they’re scrutinizing certain countries due to the current administration I wouldn’t be surprised but I believe if a case is put under administrative investigation/processing or whatever then it makes sense to continue through the list rather than hold everyone up because of a few cases.

And I sincerely wish everyone good luck on their cases and wish fast processing for everyone!

Our interview is scheduled for October 10th. If we are approved how long do you guys think it will take to get the card? We have our Canadian wedding on October 27th, so we will be cutting it extremely close. Thanks in advance!

card takes about 2 weeks- assuming you are approved on the spot
If they wait for supervisor to approve or review or anything, I don't think you will get it in time. I think  a safe measure is to give yourself a month.

the same thing. I could get neither state id nor driving license in NJ

I was able to get a temporary driving license (but still need to send proof of legal presence to get my full license). I'm in California.

03/24/17 - Packet delivered

I think most states nowadays are complying to the federal ID requirements. They need to verify the applicant's legal status before the issuance of a Driver license. I went through the same process in Ohio.

05/24 PD
06/18/18 Bio apt
06/26/18 Fingerprint review was completed
09/27/18 RFE for I-864
11/04/18 Sent response to RFE
11/06/18 RFE response was received
11/07/18 Courtesy letter for I-693
11/19/18 Case is ready to be scheduled for interveiw
11/20/18 Interview was scheduled

Yes of course, but what I mean is that I am allowed to drive with a temporary (paper) driving license , that allows me to drive on the road legally. It cannot serve as an ID though. I cannot get an ID without showing legal presence though, which I can only do once I get my EAD/AP at least.

Would you guide me for more details about the temporary driving license? whats the required documents for the temporary DL? All I got now is ssn card, NOA1 for AOS, EAD and AP, marriage certificate. And I’m in east Bay Area. I think the DMV regulation should be the same as yours.

I got my card exactly a week after my interview but it can vary. I also had a trip booked about 2 weeks from the interview.

If you get approved before the trip then you can get your passport stamped through an infopass appointment. That stamp will allow you to prove your PR status.

What I did was pre-schedule an infopass a week from the interview in case the card wasn't gonna come in time.
