MAY 2018 AOS Filers

So, we just finished our interview (it took an hour)

And got approved on the spot

 

The officer was a nice lady, she asked us some questions like how we met, when we decided to get married, how many people were in our wedding....etc. All the questions are very straight forward. 

 

I’d like to thank you all the VJer’s here for the help. Without you guys We don’t think our process will be this smooth. 

 

Hope you guys will receive some good news soon too!!

 

(I’ll try to recall all the questions she asked and share with you guys when we back home)

could this be for your EAD? the text of the alert indicates it could be any of those
When di you file? If you're an early May filer, EAD is definitely possible
It's almost impossible to get GC without interviews these days but please keep us posted!

Okay bro..i will..yea its just the EAD..i asked a lawyer and he told me its the EAD...i should receive it soon cos its been sent out already

Did u ask for expedite?
If not, this is great news for all of us! Means they're working on May filers

Also- what was the date of your application? (you don't have an updated timeline)

Finally received the interview notification in mail. The date is in the end of September. Will post the experience then!

As promised, here is my interview experience today (Local office: Helena, Montana)

 

Our interview was scheduled at 9.50 and we arrived at 9.15. We waited in the sitting area and being called in at around 10.10.

First, the lady asked for our ID and take a copy of it. Then we went into her room. She introduced herself to us then asked us to stand and do the oath.

She asked me if i bring my I-693 (since i didn't file with my packet). I handed it to her and she opened it and took a look make sure everything is okay and asked me if I need to wait long to had the medical appointment, i said it wasn't that bad, just like 2 weeks after i called. Then she started asking us questions:

 

The questions I remember she asked us (all the questions she didn't really specific me or my husband to answer it, so me and my husband just like take turns to answer)
- When and where we met
- Who contact who first

- How long it took me to reply him
- When we decided to get married

- Did i see that coming? (about my husband proposed)

- Where and when we got married
- How many people were in our wedding
- If I met all those people before who attended our wedding
- If my family were there
- Have you meet her family (ask my husband), when and where
- Ask if all my visits to USA were a trip to visit my husband
- What we like to do in free time
- Ask me if I’m working now and what kind of job I’m going to look for once I get my GC
- Who’s the better cook
- Do we have a pet

- If the house we're living in is by rent or we own it
- What color is our house
- Am I the one who decorates the house
- Double check my husband’s info from form I-130 (like asking him where he’s working at now, what’s he’s job duties...etc)
- Asked me the “no” question from form I-485, confirm my parents' name....etc.

Finally, she asked me if I have anymore doc to show them such as joint bank account....etc. I gave her everything i had (car insurance, bank account, health care, phone bill, flight ticket copies that we visited each other, some envelopes that from the letters from family and friends) (she was impressed the numbers of doc I brought lol)
She also took a look of our photo album, asked me if I’m the one who organized the album

 

Then she told us she gonna approved our application today and said my Green Card should arrive in 3-4 weeks. Also explained since our marriage is less than 2 years so my GC gonna be a 2 years conditional one. After that she gave me a form to sign to make sure I acknowledge about the 2 years GC.

The whole process was very chill and we did joke a few times. After the interview, we even chit chat a bit and she said normally she won't remember anyone after the interview but she pretty sure she will remember us ❤️ My husband even told her he was nervous becos he afraid they gonna send me back to Hong Kong 🤣 and the lady laughed and said they seldom do that unless I am a criminal lol 

 

So, that's it! I hope I didn't miss anything!

Yesterday, I received my NOA hardcopy for my AP application in the mail. Very weird. Just for that though, nothing for the EAD (I applied for the combo). They received my application in May. Anyone else received their receipt notice this late?

SOOOOO... i just got the courtesy letter today for my medical, i 693, i think,  does that mean my interview is coming around the corner????

 

Is this something i can get excited about??????

Sent our package 9th of may 2018, biometrics 7th of june, now today i get a RFE in the mail  The joint sponsors income did not meet the 125% requirement. Only option left is to use my husbunds fathers girlfriends income. 

Does anyone know if 2 joint sponsors can back me up? This is so disappointing.

 I have two join sponsors, I have my husband  and his father. Just to be safe.

Yeah so a small update on my case: on my.uscis account I had an update June 18th that my case is ready to schedule an interview, so I have been waiting patiently. In last few days I couldn’t access my account bcs it said it’s temporary unavailable. And now I log in and see an update from June 24th that wasn’t there before:

Fingerprint Review Was Completed

As of June 24, 2018, we completed our review of your fingerprints and are working on your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, Receipt Number MSCXXX, at our Jacksonville Field Office location. We will let you know if we make a decision or need anything from you.

Weird but I guess now they transferred my case to a local office... usuall for my zip code it should be Montgomery AL cuz Jacksonville is super far away... but they seem to be quite quick so I have my hopes up again. Anyone had a similar update after “ready to schedule an interview”? Let me know
