MAY 2018 AOS Filers

Hello everyone, my husband (beneficiary) and I(petitioner) sent our aos packet out last Friday, May 11th. Our tracking number shows it was delivered Monday, May 14th but we have not heard anything yet or received an noa1 so we are hoping to hear something soon. The check has not been taking out yet. It's crazy, I was also a may 11 filer for the k1 visa, so this time last year I was checking visa journey like crazy 😅

We sent ours May 12th and said it was delivered Monday as well and I checked my bank account and the check has not been cashed yet.

 

Honestly, I would sweat it until at least 2 weeks from receive date. Just understand that probably they received a huge volume of packets that day or even previous days which results to them delayed.

Our AOS package was delivered on May 10th and I just saw our check cashed today. No NOA1 yet

My check was cashed on May 10th and have not yet received noa1. Once the check is cashed on the back image you will see you case number for i485. When I checked online all it saids fingerprints fee accepted on may 10th and that the mail a form but haven’t received anything yet 😩

Submitted the documents together in one envelope. All the documents were in one manila folder.

If you are changing from a K-1 visa to AOS, then you do not have to write an explanation why. The I-485 that you're submitting with it should be proof enough.

It depends what bank for and state you're applying in. Each bank will vary what kind of proof of residency is needed.  

 

Since you're in California, you can apply for a state ID through DMV. - https://www.dmv.ca.gov/portal/dmv/detail/idinfo/idcard 

 

However you need show proof of residency somehow when you're applying for it. If you're renting an apartment, get your name on the lease and use the "lease agreement/update to lease agreement". The DMV accepted that as my proof of residency.  I suggest finding your local DMV, booking an appointment to get it, otherwise it will be a long wait if you just walk in (did a walk-in and sat there for 8 hours until my number was called).

 

There is also a non-official site which is like a guide to getting your drivers/state ID etc with DMV - https://www.dmv.org/ca-california/

Hi Everyone!

we are now May 2018 Filers. We were Sept.2017 but things got a little difficult and now here we are. Sent my yesterday and well it wont get there until Friday sooo lets see were this journey takes us

Well, we haven’t received NOA1 yet but the $1225 check has been cashed. I guess that’s a good sign.

How do you check the image with the case number? Through your bank?

I have bank of america when I log in to my online banking it shows me the check cashed then it let me see the imagine of the front and back of the check.
