Scary, but at the same time I assume the system they have designed doesn't work, and the administration goes to extremities. And we are one of those who face this transition period, unfortunately.

Hi everyone,  my EAD got update online yesterday and says fingerprint review was completed, does that mean I might get my EAD soon? Is there similar timeline I could refer? Thanks!


 

 

I-485/765/131:

06/01/2018 - Sent AOS/EAD/AP through UPS, received NOA1 on 6/11. Received bio appointment on 6/15 and completed on scheduled date 6/29.

07/06/2018 - Submitted EAD expedite request with job offer, reason was financial loss. Received EAD/AP combo card on 08/04. AOS changed to 'Case is ready to be scheduled for an interview' on 7/24.

07/23/2019 - AOS interview was scheduled on 8/27. In the interview USCIS can't make decision because original K1 file got split up somewhere.

11/25/2019 - AOS got approved, received the actual card in mail on 12/2.

I-751:

09/05/2021 - Sent ROC through FedEx, delivered on 9/7, received message e-notification on 9/9 stated case was received, check is cashed on 9/10, NOA1 in mailbox on 9/13.

10/28/2021 - Fingerprints have been taken (Reuse).

01/17/2023 -  Case was transferred To Another Office

01/26/2023 - Case Was Approved

N-400:

08/28/2022 - Submitted N-400 online, NOA1 on 08/29/2022, with estimate time 10 months for decision. Biometrics is reused.

11/23/2022 - Interview was scheduled on 1/11/2023, it was a combo interview for I751/N400. Both cases were verbally approved. System hasn't been updated yet. 

01/26/2023 - Form N-400 recommended to be approved --> Oath Ceremony Will Be Scheduled

02/06/2023 -  Oath Ceremony Notice Was Mailed, Oath on 2/22

02/22/2023 - Oath Ceremony, applied passport the same day, with estimated receiving date in middle of May. ALL DONE!!

That article is negative beyond undeetansing, examples are crazy too... made for people to fear.

 

It’s simple: file on time to stay in status and don’t do crimes. I can’t imagine people failing their interviews if they have decent relationships (not a visa fraud ones). And I get the idea behind being more efficient with people who qualify for deportation. That stay in the country forever or never leave sometimes.

You didn’t mention in your post that you expedited your EAD, nobody is going to provide you a satisfactory reply if you don’t give all the details. Try to search for recent EAD expedite threads, that might help to find a member with similar timeline.

 

Nobody know what is the deadline for an USCIS reply to EAD expedite requests. It was usually 30 days now it can be more. Call customer service and ask, I don’t see a reason to contact your congressman, your EAD is within regular processing times, you had your biometrics at the end of June.

I had my biometric appointment on Jun 18 and I'm waiting too. there's no update except i got a courtesy letter to remind me to do the I-693 (medical examination) on Jun 25.

haha i wasn't intended to do that. I planned to just stay for 5 months, but my boyfriend proposed to me like 2 months after i arrived to the US.

My husband and I are going to be traveling domestically in the next few months. We'll be within 100 miles of the border at some points. Border patrol is doing random checks in one of the areas. Does anyone know, what is the best way to explain to the border patrol that my husband is legal? He is on a K-1 visa, but it has a slash through it from when he entered. We are married and waiting for the green card. But he technically doesn't have any kind of formal "status." I'm worried about encountering an untrained officer or my husband being detained. It's a scary time to not be a "citizen" or "resident." If he's neither, what is he really, in the eyes of the federal government?

Bring his passport and NOA1 , I think that would be fine
