So my case was sent to the DOS on May 16, and I called today and they said they received it on May22nd. So I never got an email, but she said to now allow up to 8 weeks for a case number. What is the average time people are waiting?  And once I get the case number, do thing go more quickly??? Just wondering if September is a realistic time frame where my wife will have her green card? Thanks!! Love this group

I think they schedule it first, then mail the paperwork in the next few days. My status still says ‘At NVC’, even though the ID email was sent. I think the status should be ‘In transit’ if the papers left NVC, and then ‘Ready’ when the embassy file them.

It seems like to me, that NVC doesn’t want to sit on cases, so I’m sure it’s coming for you too, just as every fellow May CC. After the endless waiting I’m still shocked that I was done with NVC in 21 days

Please help me, I received a checklist yesterday and it's asking for my mother's AOS I-864.  She's a household member and we sent in a I-864A because I am using her income to meet the income requirements.

I called the NVC and they confirmed that they need her I-864.

I thought household members needed the I-864A ? Terribly confused right now.  Thank you for your input.
