Apologies for my duplicate post,  but I didn't get a response in a different thread. hopefully you guys can give me some insight

Looking for some advice/input here.

Paid IV & AOS Fees: 05/25/2018 (Processing currently)

I wasn't expecting the case number to come so early. I want to get an August interview date, but I feel like if I upload my documents next week, I'll end up with a July interview date, which conflicts with our travel plans (bad idea, I know.) We are a PIVOT Case. Do you guys think I should delay uploading my documents? Just  a little lost what to do here.

Thanks!

We have a similar situation with travel plans in July. You can reschedule an interview. They say "this may incur significant wait time" though, and I truly wonder what that means. A month? 2 months? 3 years?! Such a vague process...

But, you can totally wait to upload your stuff until later if you'd like. There's no telling anything. The only way to be SUPER sure that you won't be scheduled until August would be to send your documents in August I guess.

Nebraska Service Centre / Frankfurt Embassy

2016/03/30 - Married!

2017/07/14 - Sent off our I-130 packet to the Chicago Lockbox (Filed from abroad)

2017/07/24 - NOA1 (sent to Nebraska)

2018/03/02 - NOA2 (Approved!)

2018/03/19 - "We sent your petition to the Department of State"

2018/03/23 - NVC received petition

2018/05/17 - Case# received and fees paid

2018/05/21 - Case# changed -- can't log in with the new one so "we've sent in a 'ticket' to get it fixed"

2018/05/22 - Scan date. Ticket worked, submitted all our paperwork until the wee hours of the morning.

2018/06/11 - CC!!! "Documentarily Qualified"

2018/06/25 - Got interview date for July 11; but we must reschedule for August.

2018/06/26 - Medical

2018/06/28 - New interview date received (for August 13th)

2018/08/13 - Interview in Frankfurt!!! They asked for certified translations.

2018/08/28 - Sent in translations

2018/09/06 - CEAC status changed to "ISSUED!!!"

2018/09/13 - Passport received in the mail! Everything is beautiful.

Do you have an idea on how long should the USCIS be changed from "we approved your case" to "case sent to department of state"?  We received Approval last May 16th but USCIS new website still not updated to "case sent to department of state".  We're assuming that it is still not sent to NVC :(

When should I have the invoice number?

You will receive welcome email with case number and invoice number. I didn't get my case number over the phone. I received an email so I am not sure but from what I've read about others, I think it will take a week.

It depends on the service center you were in. Ours was Nebraska. The status changed to Sent to the Department of States in one week. For Texas it usually takes longer.
