My status has changed to Issued this morning. But I’m yet to get a message from dhl for pickup and all. Wondering how long it will take for their mail or sms to come thru.

Question....

So what documents should be taken to the interview besides the civil documents? My lawyer told me my husband should take pictures, affidavits from friends and family that know of our marriage and are anticipating his arrival to the USA, any phone or social network records we have, any evidence of our preparations for our life together in the USA....are any of you guys preparing paperwork like that?

His interview will be in Kabul Afghanistan.

Definitely take all those that your lawyer has suggested, although I don't know if affidavits will carry much weight. In addition, I am taking printouts of my bank statements, just in case, to show that I have enough liquid assets on my own (even though my husband met the minimum income criterion). Bring along updated correspondence records to show evidence of an ongoing relationship as well.

Hi Zaynab, thank you for keeping us updated as you move along the process. You are helping me a lot because my husband is also in Abuja and I am following your updates back to back, lol. Thank you and let us know when you get your pickup notification from DHL.

Lol... I’ll keep updating. I believe it’s because Friday is half day that’s why I’ve not received any message from dhl but I’m sure it will come thru on Monday. Wishing your husband the very best!

Hi guys! My husband's interview was on Tuesday, May 1st and his visa was approved! Yayyy! :)

So we had selected to pick up the passport at Jalandhar, Punjab location and our interview was in Mumbai.

Does anyone know how long it can take until passport is ready to be picked up? In Punjab?

Please let me know as we want to get tickets soon!!

Usually its 1-2 weeks. Check what the status says on ceac website.

When did the nvc finalize your paperwork? How long was it after they scheduled your interview? Mine was completed April 17 and waiting for interview date to be mailed. Also going to Ciudad Juarez. Thanks

There's a couple of us with our cases complete since 2/26 and we've yet to get scheduled. Its taking 2-3 months :(
