Help - Employment Based Interview Scheduled for Family based AOS

Today I received a text message and email that our case status was updated.  I checked both websites:

 

egov.uscis.gov and my.uscis.gov

 

The my.uscis.gov hasn’t been updated yet and still says interview waiting to be scheduled.

 

the egov one got the update but it says “Employment-based interview scheduled”.  And, we are a family based case, from K1

 

i tried to call the 1-800 number on the egov website, after two attempts someone answered but they said immigration officers are not accepting calls at this time and to call back later.  

 

Has anyone else ever had this happen and if so, what is the best course of action, if any?  I know sometimes the online status updates are inaccurate and vary between the different websites.  I’m wondering if I should even take action on this.

the status itself seems to be a glitch. check out the Jan AOS filers thread, several people have gone through the same update and like you some of them are also adjusting from a K1.

Thanks, I found this related thread after some better searching, sounds like we should just wait for the letter in the mail to make sure it’s okay and that it should be fine:

 

they really need to fix their online updates and make one central website to check, with all the calls they receive each day they could cut that down big time if their online status updates were accurate

i know right? i totally agree with you! it is frustrating to wait for so long and then you get a broken system and no way to correctly know what is going on!

 

i read on hear about one member who recently got the same update as you but he was adjusting from an F1 visa. he got the correct letter though and last week iirc he went on his interview and was approved. so yeah, just wait for the official notice in the mail and if that is correct then i think you should be good to go! good luck! you guys have it better, I have been waiting for my interview sched since oct of last year!

My status was the same while I filed AOS from K1 too. My interview was last Friday, I brought to ask the IO for my status online, he checked and told me no problems or nothing wrong. So we just ignored it and follow the letter in snail mail. This happened to our several Jan-2018 filer.

Yeah, it just seems economical, for them even more so than us, to fix the website (and to only have one haha).  We’ll just wait for the real letter and see if everything checks out.  Appreciate you all, and wish you all the very best!
