Yesterdays I got many text messages and emails from the USCIS about some update on my case. When I logged into my online USCIS account and checked, there was no letter uploaded. This morning I agained received about 50 emails and text messages about some appointment being scheduled. When I checked, again there was no appointment letter uploaded.

I don't know what's going on.

Any of you has ever experienced this before? Please share your thoughts.

That sounds like a scam. USCIS would send you only 1 email and 1 text message if that. You can call USCIS and ask for an update on your case because you received an update text/email without details. But I’m betting it’s nothing.

Thanks for your opinion. However, I'm pretty sure it's not a scam, but a glitch in the USCIS's system. I wonder if anyone has experienced before and then actually got their appointment letter in the mail.

Same thing happened for my case also ...I received 46 emails from myUSCIS today morning....Dont worry, its just a system glitch from USCIS . May be when they edit or change any info on your case it would be due to that, but I dont think it is any thing to worry about.

Thank you for sharing the information. I couldn't count the so many emails to have the exact number but I guess I received 46 also.

But are you waiting for an update on your case? Me, I am, and there should be a an appointment letter uploaded on ELIS in my account but there hasn't been so far.

P/S: I have counted the messages and see that I got 49 of them over a period of about 2 minutes, this morning.

I was approved for my N-400 application, was waiting for my Oath to be scheduled. They put my case in line for Oath and on sunday I received case status notifications that my oath was scheduled. I am now just waiting to get the letter to show in my account. Good Luck to you.

Oh, me the same. Yesterday morning I got the notification that my oath ceremony had been scheduled but two things made me suspicious: first, it was on a sunday, we all know the USCIS don't work on sundays (they don't even work on weekday afternoons). Second, the amount of notices I got this morning was just abnormal and then until now I still haven't seen the Oath letter uploaded.

Do you think the Oath being scheduled thing might just be an error on their part and it in fact hasn't been scheduled at all?

No...I called USCIS Customer care to know the date and time of my Oath and the representative told me that the Oath was scheduled but she couldn't get the details. I will have to wait for the letter to arrive in mail to see the date and time. Also on "Check Case Status" link on USCIS website my case status is "We have scheduled your Oath Ceremony...." so i dont think this is an error.

You can do the same to confirm....

When you call the 800 number, they will tell you the same thing you see in your USCIS online account. I don't have the patience to wait for hours by the phone just for that.

I think a better way would be to have an infopass appointment with a local field officer and perhaps they could print out the letter for you, if it does exist, and in case it gets lost in the mail or they fail to mail it out to begin with. However, I there's no appointment available for me to make.

I'm not too impatient for the oath, I mean I can wait, but I just don't want it to fall on my final exam day. That's why I'm so eager to see the letter.

P/S: When you see the Oath letter posted on your online account, please let me know so I can check on mine as well. Thanks.

Hey did you get to know your oath date and time???? The oath letter is still not showing on my USCIS account. I will be calling them and talking to a tier-2 representative today. Let me know what is your status now.

My status is still the same as the day I received the notifications: oath letter mailed and it might take up to a few days for the letter to be uploaded. Well, "a few days" is an ambiguous concept, might mean 700 days or forever.

  • 1 month later...

Yes this seems to happen when they have logged on and been working on your case. It typically takes about 4 days after that to see the actual update/letter online and a couple more days for the copy to come through the mail. I also worried about this everytime but given the speed of my case, I think its usually a good thing, they are processing your case.
