Hello,

this is my first post here and I hope it ends up in the correct category.  My fiance and I filed for the K1 last September and were approved recently and now we are waiting to hear from the NVC and the Embassy. I - the beneficiary - will need police reports for the interview, and not only for Germany where I currently live, but also from Austria were I lived 20 years.

Now the question I have is about a "european police report" which they offer here in germany. Will the embassy accept this? As far as I understand it will in addition to the german police report also contain the one from Austria. Has anyone had a similar situation and know if I better should get them separate or if that combined one will work?

I was also reading in other posts that the embassy in Germany accepts papers in german, so no translation needed?

Thanks in advance

Daniel

Here is the link to the instructions issued by the Frankfort consulate for Immigrant/Fiance K1 visas:

Since the section on police reports does not specifically state that a European police report would be acceptable I think it would not.  You could try emailing the consulate and asking if it would be acceptable.  https://de.usembassy.gov/contact-the-immigrant-visa-section/
