hi

we need more information, because the approval depends on the type of petition, who is the beneficiary, what type of petition is it and from what country is the beneficiary?

So you are a USC (US Citizen) since you petitioned for your sister (only USCs can do so).

Your I-130 is still within normal processing timelines. They are currently processing F4 (sibling of a USC) cases from August 2009. https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/

I wouldn't expect to hear anything on the petition until about another 6 years or so. Then it will go to NVC and sit until the Priority Date (PD) becomes current. PDs from 2004 are currently being processed, but tend to fall behind a few additional months every year. Note that this is not a processing issue...it's due to the number of immigrant visas available each year by law.

In general, expect about 15-20+ years from I-130 filing to interview for the F4 (sibling) category.

Wow, that is a long time, but it is what it is. My sister she will be 73 year old.  Too bad because she is like my Mom. My parents died when I was 7 years old and she take care of me after that.  I really want her to see me her and my kids that she never met.

Thanks so much for your response.

Thanks so much for your response.

And consider also the health care cost when that time comes.

She should’ve just applied for a tourist visa if your purpose is for her to meet your kids. Or you visit her. It’s more realistic that way.

She tried the TOURIST VISA , but they denied her because of the same reason they told everyone no strong ties to her country or what ever that means. She has no kids because she never got married no luck there and no good education or job because she spend her young age taking care of me and my brothers.   We spend a lot of time getting all the paperwork for her tourist visa and paid the fees, but nothing at the end.

That why I am doing this now, but she will be to old to travel maybe .  I don't know what to do we have 3 kids and we just want her to visit for couple month.

Thanks again

Many of us can sympathize with this, leaving close family behind is an unfortunate part of choosing to emigrate and that sometimes has consequences like this. Although it’s not ideal, you taking the children to visit her seems to be your only realistic option at the moment.

Yes you should visit her then. Rather than wait for years. Good luck!

I would have thought it would be circa 2030 before she could immigrate, assuming it is still possible.

How would she fund her Healthcare etc, sounds like she is not wealthy.

Thanks, for all your response. Yes I did think about visiting her witch I did when I was single, but I don't know if you know how hard to travel with 3 kids ages 2,5, and 7  and also the expense. For her just one person little easy.

Anyway it is what it is and I know I am not the only one with this problem and yes, I did know the consequences when I moved her, but I did it for reasons and I won't change it for the world.

I will have to wait until my kids get older to travel with them and I hope they meet her in the feature.

Thanks for your sympathise about this and god bless you.
