The case inquiry date is now October 13, so you're allowed to submit an inquiry if you want. I would recommend letting your state senator do this for you, assuming you are a US Citizen.

You can also do it yourself here: https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/displayONPTForm.do?entryPoint=init&sroPageType=onpt

I am a US citizen and I spent 20 years in the US Army.

Hello everyone, so we finally got an official update today through email and the app aftwr waiting 199 days!!! We are more hopeful nos than ever..  As of today an RFE letter has been mailed. I guess it is better than than a flat out denial.  Hopefully the letter will be here soon, it is coming from California and I live in New Jersey.  We are hopeful it was just a small overlook on the application.  I tried calling the call center and they were not able to tell me what evidence is being requested.  So everyone pray for us.🙏🙏

I think it will vary from country to country, but my opinion is the wait between NOA1 and NOA2. After NOA2 things start to get faster. For Ukraine (our country) I've heard the interview step isn't too bad unless they have reason to suspect something wrong.

No, shouldn’t take that long. Mine also took 4 days

I hope it comes tomorrow. We want to know why we got a RFE and send them whatever they want so we can continue with the process.  How was your experience with the RFE? was it fast?

We're on the same boat. It is better than a denial, the RFE's are usually not a big deal. When it's something serious they just deny you on the spot.

We were denied because we weren't able to meet within two years because of a lot of reasons..but the lawyer misguided us and said that we can apply for a waiver showing it's because of cultural restrictions even though i told her i will be going to see him later that month. I was a bit impatient because i didnt want to waste time in applying. The lawyer didn't tell me how serious that requirement is or i would've postponed applying. They made it sound like it was nothing. A good lawyer would've said go see him and apply after. But i guess it was all about the money

I had the same experience... I was applying for my citizenship 2 years ago and the person who prepared my application said that I could go ahead and apply despite my 2 years of continuous absence in the US. He made me believe that it was totally fine because he said my reason for being absent is valid. He's not a lawyer but he said he has a lot of experience about this stuff <_< I was a fool for believing him and also I wanted to become a citizen sooner so I could start filing for fiancé visa lol. Unfortunately I was denied.. LOTS of lessons learned the hard way.. He also made it seem like it was my fault  so i just trusted myself, waited until I completed 5years and prepared my own very carefully and got approved!! but also they say things happen at the right time ;);)

Congrats on your approval btw!! I'm so happy for you!!! :jest::jest:
