I was so optimistic when we started this process 205 days ago. I was oh so optimistic and oh so naive! I was thinking that our case was easy since we know eachother for over 30 years.  It’s a sad, beautiful, crazy, long story... But finally I realized, that our great love story doesn’t count as much as the complicating facts: that I am a naturalized citizen here, that we are both divorced, and he lived in 2 European countries over the past 10 years. So our case will be picked apart and checked and rechecked for who knows how long... I am devastated and overwhelmed and tired and hopeless. We are both over 40, I am here with a rare chronic health condition (that this stress of waiting does not help), he is all alone there, without any family left. (I tried expediting our case but since I have this ultra rare condition that does not fit in any of the USCIS boxes, we were denied). 

Anyway, I just wanted to vent for that few unlucky people who have left on this tread, and for those lucky and kind few who stayed behind to support them. This community is really amazing! 

I waited 204 days ... Michael and I are divorced ....

Michael called and our case was not assigned yet.... and 3 days later it was approved ....

It will arrive soon ... do not lose your hopes !!!!

We were denied because we weren't able to meet within two years because of a lot of reasons..but the lawyer misguided us and said that we can apply for a waiver showing it's because of cultural restrictions even though i told her i will be going to see him later that month. I was a bit impatient because i didnt want to waste time in applying. The lawyer didn't tell me how serious that requirement is or i would've postponed applying. They made it sound like it was nothing. A good lawyer would've said go see him and apply after. But i guess it was all about the money 

Sorry about your bad experience. We also paid a pretty penny for a INS lawyer but only because I'm from South Africa and my fiance from Florida. We didn't want to waste time or money and we want to do it legally the correct way. Still we wish there was a easier way but K1 was our only option after our engagement in November 2017. We were fortunate to have met in person and spend 3 weeks on holiday in my country. Now we wait patiently for the NOA2

Hi fellow oct 31st filer! I'm also here for support, we still have no news either. It does gets harder every day but we need to be confident that it WILL happen. And congrats to everyone that got approved!

Well today is DAY 200... Not sure who I'm celebrating with but cheers! 🍹🍸🍷🍾🍰🍰🍰.

 

Going to be a long weekend if there's no approval today but we have no choice but to deal with this.... GOOD LUCK TO @HTMW & EVERYONE ELSE WAITING

I'll celebrate with you! I love your attitude. 

Like I said in the December topic, celebrate every day and every noa2 cause that is one more day and one more case closer to yours. It is proof that the line is still going, the clock is still ticking. 

 

We will be here celebrating with you when you get yours. And till then we are waiting with you. You are not alone in this!

We just got an RFE, we don't know why. Does anyone knows how long it takes for them to process the new evidence?

It can take up to 60 days but usually we see a noa2 after 2 weeks.kinda depends on what they need. If it's just a copy of your passport it'll be a quick fix. If they ask for more evidence of you meeting they probly need more time to review it.

Guys how long does it takes to receive the RFE on the mail? we got the email and the change of status on the page. But how long does it takes to receive the physical RFE?

I filed on 11 October 2017 and still no answer.  My fiance and I lived together, in the same house, in Panama from December 2016 - December 2017; this was when I left to get things prepared for her arrival.  We have an infant son that was born on 17 September 2017.  I don't understand what could be taking so long and why are cases submitted after mine being approved. I have been away from my infant son since 27 December.

The case inquiry date is now October 13, so you're allowed to submit an inquiry if you want. I would recommend letting your state senator do this for you, assuming you are a US Citizen.

took mine 4 days.. if coming from California.. and I am in the Maryland. I also have USPS Informed delivery to feed my insanity lol

That was my date (well one of them). If you are past normal processing time.. you can try to call uscis and ask what may be the issue. Did you check any of the websites?

Yes, it's coming from California but my fiancée lives in the same state. Do you think it takes up to 4 days too?
