is AOS to obtain a green card? lol i would hope they dont make us wait long during AOS too after having longer processing times for K1

You can apply for ssn literally the second day. You can get a court marriage done right away so you can move forward with AOS. It's for green card. Have to apply for work permit too which can take up to 6 months..so your boo might be home for a while..

Yes. That will take 9 months to 1 year after you arrive and get married. The overall process to get a green card for K-1 takes longer, but getting your fiance to the US is still shorter with the K-1, so it's up to each couple to choose the best path for their situation.

If the average is 200 now then I wish I was average.  205 for us today Oct 10th.  I can't believe how long they are dragging this out without an RFE or anything.  No communication since Oct 10th

i wonder because some people get married... then get a tourist visa and come to the states... then do AOS and all that other stuff.. isnt that the wrong way to do it? (i am asking because they tried to make us go that route and i said no)

I heard you should wait about 2 weeks to apply for SSN, becaue it can take that long for the system to update and if you apply too soon they have to request information that can take even longer.

Can't get married on tourist visa, stay, and then adjust... that is basically fraud.

You can get married anywwhere and do the CR-1. Some people get married while visiting and then go home while the wait, some get married at the international border (there's a famous bridge in Mexico for this), or in any foreign country - many do it in The Hague.
