Lots of happy news over here today! Congrats to those of you who have received NOA2s recently and HUGE congrats to @Daniel P ! You've been such a rock star doing scans every day even though you were among the first to get NOA2. I truly appreciate your dedication to getting our Octofriends news and encouragement each day!

My pleasure :). Hopefully each one of you will get your visa soon too!

I noticed one of the reasons for ineligibility of a visa is "overstaying" on a previous visa. I assume this is on an American visa, and wouldn't they have seen this before NOA2? I am so curious as to some of these questions.. Thoughts @EllyNelly @DonAnn @Naes @BnK..I was filling out the DS-160 and realize all these questions except the 5 sections on security were already addressed in the actual petition. I know I should not worry at this point.. I am so overwhelmed at work and trying to ensure we get the police record requested, and medical scheduled..

I think it is possible for them to overlook some problems that a fiance may have or just not focus on it at all as the consulate officer in fiance's country will most likely address it. It is very important that you answer all questions on the ds-160 truthfully and make sure that the information matches any other information that may've been submitted to the embassy in the past. If your fiance had any issues in the past he will be given the chance to explain... you still need to answer the questions on ds-160 even if you already answered them.

Side note: my ex was previously removed from USA due to working on visitor's visa. USCIS still approved the petition but my ex got denied k1 visa at interview and had to apply for a waiver. FRAUD is a big deal when it comes to getting a visa... anyway, if your fiance overstayed in the past he may need a waiver and may be asked to submit one during interview. I really hope this will not happen to you (you did not say whether your fiance actually have this problem or not).

He overstayed in another country. He has never been in the United States.. I was wondering if that has any bearings here

I am not sure.  I know someone in my family overstayed their visa for America and was able to visit Canada but got denied when they tried to return to America... so,  I'm thinking he would definitely have issues going back to the country he overstayed in but maybe America won't be too hard on him if he's honest about it

No, he doesn’t want to go back to that country. I’m more concerned about how US will see it for this country

Yes I understand that he wants to come to America to live permanently and forget about the other country but I am not sure if overstaying in the other country will affect him now.  How long ago did he overstay? I think they will look at that.  I think you should check out the consulate review for his country and ask there to see if anyone know for sure what may happen

@Meisha&Jake what information is needed for the endorser for ACRO? Does the endorser need to sign anything if we do it online?

Have you read the ACRO site instructions? it clearly states it on there https://www.acro.police.uk/Police_Certificates_Online.aspx

You sound somewhat peeved that I asked you. My apologies. I had that same link up and because we clicked “Apply” it wouldn’t take us back to the link you shared. I appreciate your kindness. I will not reach out again. Please stay blessed

Family, please be patient with each other as this process can be iverwhelming no matter how much information to which we might have access. If it weren’t for a lot of people here I wouldn’t have been as informed as I am to pass on to others.

Thank you. Haven’t applied yet, but as mentioned before it doesn’t matter if I or anyone reads anything “carefully”, it’s an overwhelming process and we need each other.
