Congrats @AnaUmo.. What the process and interview like? So exciting!

It wasn't tedious at all as long as you're well prepared. I gave an in depth explanation of the whole thing on the consulate review right here:

When you fall for someone with all your heart you just want to be together forever, right?

What to do after NOA2:

Spoiler

After USCIS approves the petition, it is sent to the National Visa Center (NVC). The NVC will assign you a case number and send your petition to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate where your fiancé(e) lives.

The NVC will mail/email you a letter when it sends your fiancé(e) case to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate. Once you receive this letter, inform your fiancé(e) to take the below-listed actions to apply for a K-1 visa and prepare for the interview.

Hey.. any tips for my beneficiary in London? Can we request a later interview date? How was the medical, and interview? PLEASE SPILL THE BEANS. I need to help him as best as I can :)

Hey,

i think you may be able to change the interview date online if you ring they can definitely do it :)

medical and interview were all very smooth and didn’t really take very long either. Just make sure your fiancé has their medical history and vaccinations etc for medical that was the worst thing to get hold of as my doctors took forever:) I was in and out of the medical in an hour and I’m and out of the interview in less than an hour the only questions they asked was

‘how did you meet’

’where are you going to live’

all very straightforward:)

Oh nice! Yes, his old GP died and he did not follow through to get a new one. So what should he do? We can find a private doc. So what shots should be up to date before medical appt?  Yes,  I read somewhere that we could change the date, and that the embassy is pretty easy to work with. So now that you have made it this far, what part would you say was the worst part of the process? Getting the NOA2? :)  This is very helpful

Oh no that’s sad! If he registers with a new GP they should have access to all his files on the system so he needs to call his local doctors and explain he needs to have his medical history released for a visa he needs to have:

vaccination history

last visit to GP

and a little letter explaining that he is of good health or if he has any medical conditions then they are managed.

for my doctors I had to fill in a form to release my history and it took a few weeks before it was ready.

I had all the shots I needed the ones they give you when you are little in the UK is fine so as long as he has his records it’s fine I did have a booster for tetanus though which is required.

The worst part is definitely the wait for NOA2 I was so nervous for my interview but it was much better than point of entry customs :) it was more like a brief chat very informal:)

If they cannot locate his files can he just go to a private doctor and have the check up etc done? He is not the best with medical anything.. sigh! This way we will have a doc who is available and can submit the information as requested. POE was difficult? How so? :) I am glad the interview was brief. I am sure that by the time it makes it to London it is more about formalities at that time. I just don't want it to be hectic for him. I am sure we can figure out the medical part

He should have a number called an NHS number that is unique to him and I’m about 99% positive his files will be around somewhere, there are lots of people who move around and switch docs (myself included) and they can always be found. Just get him to call his local doctors he will probably need to fill out some initial forms :) going to a private one would just be the same process as it’s history required not a check up, they do that at the medical appointment so I wouldn’t waste the money :)

ive not travelled over on my visa yet but ive has trouble when visiting on a tourist visa while my application for the K1 was pending! But they are just doing their job and checking that I’m not trying to stay illegally :)

where is it that you guys will be living once he goes over? It’s so exciting:)

Oh I see what you mean! Well I will have him track that down, and then have whatever ready. My case has just been sent to London this week. I have time. Maybe he should look into it now. After all we have been through this part sounds like a walk in the park..
