Hi gurus,

I applied for AOS thru marriage to my USC spouse. I applied in January 25. They send me biometric notification Feb 6.  I did biometric on 20th Feb. But it's been 2months plus now . I haven't heard from them. Should I be worried.. especially since I forgot to include copies of marriage license (I only included d license receipt). Cud it be d reason for the delay?

Please help me with response.

Thanks!

AOS and any other immigration process is taking long time. It can take up to 1 year or more. Always check your status online on the uscis website in case of any update.

PS: Nothing takes 2 months unless you belong to the 1 % that is super duper lucky. If you forgot to include the copy of marriage certificate then expect an RFE for this.

I usually thought it takes about 3 to 4 month max. Like the case of my friends. Anyways.i will exercise more patience

Some people (rare cases) have it approved (with interview or not) in less time but be prepare if this takes more time. Also be aware that they may send you a letter requesting further evidence such as the marriage certificate.  My AOS (in 2013) took 14 months. By that time I was already walking up the walls. Hope this is not the case for you.

According to what I have, as a time line,  and this was for AOS and EAD, filed at the same time.

I-797c Notice                                  2 to 3 weeks

Notice of Apt for Biometrics    3 to 5 weeks

Biometrics appt.                           5 to 8 weeks

EAD                                                   12 to 16 weeks

Notice of Interview                       4 to 10 months

AOS  interview                                 6 to 12 months

Receipt of GC                                   8 to 14 months

From our reciept date to the biometrics appt was only 3 weeks and 4 days!

We’ve been waiting since early June of last year!  It’s a long wait.
