Could someone please tell me what it means when I filed the n-400 while living in Houston in June 2017. Been in line for interview since July 2017, but had to move to Phoenix Arizona in February 2018. I completed the online address change and received a confirmation number. In March 2018 I was able to speak to a level 2 officer who put my mind at ease regarding the completion of the address change and that there won’t be any additional delays due to the move. Two days ago (4/25/2018) I spoke to a level 2 officer yet again regarding my case to ensure they have my correct address once again and to inquiry the whereabouts process wise the Phoenix office is at the moment. The officer couldn’t really tell me their current workload but curiously stated he would make a additional notation regarding the change of address. Yesterday my status was updated I went from being super excited (I assumed it was the interview notice) but to my shock and horror it was updated to the same thing. However now it says “As of April 26, 2018 we started the interview process...” what happened? How does it change from July 2017 to “As of April 2018”??? I’m confused and distraught. I have the confirmation email that the address change was made in February. In March a level 2 officer said everything is good to go, to a couple days ago a “notation” being made and my status “updating” to the same thing but erasing the original as of July 13, 2017 in line for interview to as April 26, 2018? Sorry about the long rant, but anyone that has any idea or have heard or been through anything similar please enlighten me. And no USCIS helpline is not allowing level 2 calls due to “high call volumes”

It looks like they will mailing you the interview/test notice in the mail anytime soon. Hopefully they use your new updated address.

When my case status changed from... "In Line for interview" (April 2017) to "On March 26, 2018, we scheduled an interview for your Form N-400".

Hopefully you get good news soon.

Thank you for the reply. My only issue though is that back in July, 2017 it said the same thing. And it has every since “On July 13, 2017 we started the interview process for your n-400...” I’m gonna go ahead and edit the original post, since what it says now is “on April 26, 2018 we started the interview process...” it is not “as of” but rather “on” sorry for the typo I’m editing now

Technically, when you moved out of your original (Houston) jurisdiction, you triggered another "wait time."

One of the lesser known requirements for the N-400 is that you must be a resident in the jurisdiction that will process your application and administer the N-400 interview for at least 3 months.

So when you moved to AZ, you automatically started a 3 month clock before you requalified for citizenship. It's frustrating, I know, but there it is. Happened to me too, when we moved to Tucson from Oregon.

PS Welcome to AZ!

So when you moved out of state after a while you received a “update” to the same in line for interview? My lord hopefully you didn’t become Rosa Parks lol going to the back of the bus. I thought the 90 day rule only applied prior to applying and not while the application was pending... so what do I do? Wait as I have been for the past year?
