Quick update - I had my interview yesterday and the officer was nice and very friendly. Just asked me the 6 questions and Eng reading/writing - did not ask for any other documents. I had two small typos in the application and he corrected them - he could not approve on the spot due to some system issue but my application was approved after 60 mins or so. Waiting on the oath letter now. Any idea how long would it be from seeing the approval online to getting the letter of oath?

Timeline

Applied - March 2021

Biometric Re-use - March 2021

Interview - March 29, 2022

Current Status - Place in line for oath ceremony

I got my Oath ceremony letter online about 2 days after my interview. I didn't get an email to say it was there so keep checking. :)

We got notice last week that my wife's interview is set for July 14. She still has a pending I-751 and we didnt get any word on that, so I hope they do the interview together.

Hi my oath ceremony is at the same building, I also had a green card renewal pending , but it became obsolete after I passed the citizenship test. The officer never mentioned it at all.

Interesting, thanks

I was under the impression they had to approve the I-751 before you became a citizen, even if it's just them checking that box

Maybe they checked the box for you

Is your I-751 a renewal or 1st one ? Mine was a 10 year renewal.

FO: Atlanta
N400 filed date: 12/27/2021
BioMetric Reuse: 12/28/2021
Interview scheduled: 04/30/2022
Interview Schedule: 06/14/2022 and Approved

My Interview appointment is at 11:30 AM.
I reached USCIS office at 10:30 AM and the security officials said they can allow me only 15 mins before my appointment time. So I waited outside till 11:15 AM.
Security officer checked my appointment letter,  ID and let me in.
Once Security screening is done then I went to Check-in. The lady took my photo and both hand index finger biometrics and guided me to go to 2nd floor and wait.

I went to the second floor and waited for 2 mins and Officer showed up, asked my name, and said I will be interviewing you and follow me.
Once we step into his room asked me to put all my stuff in the chair and took the Swear.
Asked me to sit in the chair and introduced himself and requested my appointment letter and Green Card. Checked my Green card and returned it back.

Officer said let's start with civics questions
1. What was one important thing that Abraham Lincoln did? Freed the slaves
2. During the Cold war, what was the main concern of the united states? Communism
3. the House of Representatives has how many voting members? 435
4. Name one state that borders Mexico? Arizona
5. What is the capital of the united states? Washington, D.C.
6. there were 13 original States, Names three? Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina.

Read Sentence: What has Abraham Lincoln did?
Write Sentence: Thanksgiving is in November.

Quickly asked me if my cell phone number, and home address changed after the application filed.

He discussed my name change request.- If I want to keep the name change request or not
Yes, I want to keep it.
Asked me to verify the Name change request and sign it.
Let's check your eligibility, and
 1. Were you arrested anytime?
 2. Do you support the US constitution?
 3. How many marriages do you had?
 4. How many kids do you have?
 5. Do you have any outstanding taxes?

He asked me to check all the info in the tab and asked me to sign it.

He then printed a paper and handed it to me and said - I approved your case and you receive an update about your oath ceremony soon and it will be held in court due to your name change request.

Eagerly waiting for Oath ceremony date!!

Updated timeline for us:

August 2020: Filed I-751

November 2020: I-751 transferred to NBC

July 2021: Filed N-400 in Atlanta

April 2021: file a FOIA request to find out why the I-751 hasn't moved and request copy of N-400 file

June 2, 2022: Interview scheduled for N-400 for July 14, 2022

~June 10, 2022: I wrote a letter to Atlanta FO asking that N-400 and I-751 be a combo interview

June 28, 2022: FOIA completed, documents provided to us

July 2, 2022: Received notice that I-751 and N-400 will be the same date and time

My wife is changing her name so I think she will have to take oath in front of a judge. According to the northern district of Georgia's website, there are oath ceremonies August 12 and August 26, so hopefully we are under 2 months away from being completely finished
