Maintaining Residence Visa in Another Country

Hello,

I will soon be moving to the US on CR1 but I was wondering if I can leave my UAE residence visa valid? I plan to visit within 6 months of moving to the US as my parents live in UAE. Is there any issue with that or will CBP raise this when I fly back in after my visit (which won't be longer than a week)? I will also be closing my bank account when I fly back for the visit so I need to make the trip. Any input will be appreciated!

Why do you feel it would be a problem? As long as you LIVE in the USA then it won't be a problem.

You can maintain it but make sure you spend a vast majority of your time in the US.

The majority of people that have a problem in this regard try to live 6 months in the USA and 6 months out of the country. Which will work a time or 2 but eventually you will be found out and force to make a decision.
