It isn’t the end. We will see what the reason is and go from there. I will fly there to get married and file a CR-1 if I have to. This is just another test.

Well, I feel much better today.  After searching all night and getting some information from friends here I found out that they don't do "Approved Pending Docs", they do "Denied Pending Docs" I think

The refusal was because I failed to disclose information on the petition.  It was an expunged arrest from 1990 that I forgot about.  It is my fault.  I didn't read that expunged arrests mattered when

Just got back from the Philippines. I got my “Affidavit in Lieu of Certificate of Legal Capacity to Contract Marriage” from the Embassy. We applied for our marriage license and it will be ready on June 5. I am going back on June 8 and we are planning a civil wedding on June 11.  After we get the PSA Certified Marriage Certificate I will file our CR-1 and start the long wait...again. 

PHILIPPINES ONLY!!!  CFO (Commission on Filipinos Overseas) INFO - Can't leave home without it!

 

PDOS (Pre-Departure Registration and Orientation Seminar) is for ages 20-59.  Peer Counseling is for 13-19 years of age.

It is required to have the visa in their passport for PDOS and Peer Counseling.

 

GCP (Guidance and Counseling Program) is for K-1 Fiancee and IR/CR-1 spouse ONLY.

Make sure you ask at the local registrar about putting a rush on the PSA certificate. We didn't and it took 7 months to get ours. Some take a year or more.

This is actually a good thing...not perfect but we are very happy about the wedding.

Ouch!  Thanks for the head's up.  The local registrar is a good friend of Rose's sister.  We even got out of the pre-marriage and family planning seminar because of her connections.  We will make sure Ate Ann will be with us!

Yea we were lucky in the same way and got out of the marriage and planning. But after the fact is when they told us that we should have said to rush it. I just assumed that they knew that. Never assume in the Philippines.
