hi

no, you need to send the copy of the GC front and back with the N400 form, you'll just have to wait

I don't believe this is true. You can file N400 without 10 yr GC, as long as you are eligible to file. The best way to file is online, it'll guide you on whether or not your eligibility is available.

5/1/2014: I-130 Sent (Nebraska Service Center)

5/23/2015: US Entry :jest:

3/1/2017: Filed i-751 (California Service Center,  transferred to National Benefits Center on 3/13/2018)

2/23/2018: Filed N-400 online at Chicago, IL
10/03/2018: i751-N400  combo interview successful

11/05/2018: Completed Oath Ceremony, Certificate of Naturalization in hand! :jest:

for the hard copy you need to file the copy of the card. it is all mailed together

online you will eventually need the card, I don't know the process online, but they might request the copy anyway before it is received in the mail, they need the copy of the GC to verify that one is eligible to file for citizenship

that means nothing, immigration needs a copy of the actual card

to file for citizenship at least mail the N400 hard copy you need a copy of the GC, they need to see the dates on the card

That's not true at all, where are you getting this information? You simply submit a copy of your expired GC and valid 1yr extension letter. Nowhere on the instructions for N400 does it say that you need a valid GC to apply for N400.

you stated that the i751 was approved and you are waiting for your 10 year GC.

if your removal was pending then you could use your 2 year GC.

I have all the under mentioned documents and a copy of my I-55 stamp in my passport. Is it enough ?

Yes. That's all you need.

We filed my wife's N400 as soon as she became eligible (look at my timeline). We still haven't received an approval on I-751, but our biometrics for N400 is done, now waiting for an interview. There are plenty of people on here who received their certificate of naturalization without ever receiving a 10yr GC.

By the way, by no means should you ever mail your valid or expired 2yr GC under any circumstances. Always mail or scan copy of originals. The only time you let go of your GC is at the N400 interview.  Even when you go for an info-stamp, they cut a corner and return your expired GC.
