Kanye West remained defiant Wednesday amid mounting backlash from fans over the rapper's positive words about President Donald Trump, tweeting a picture of himself wearing a "Make America Great Again" hat and criticizing former President Barack Obama.

"Obama was in office for eight years and nothing in Chicago changed," he tweeted on Wednesday.

Maybe, in general, I believe it is a bad idea for entertainers to espouse a political position that alienates a large majority of their fans, but they certainly are free to state their minds.

I don't bat an eyelash either way. I don't see the point of listening to what a singer has to say outside of their music. He has no credentials that give his opinion more weight than anyone else.

 

I realize most singers/celebrities tend to lean Democrat but I don't care either way. Unless they have other legitimate roles in their life that make them more qualified (some celebrities are also quite active philanthropists and take up big causes), I don't see what they bring to the table.

That's the reason he doesn't like Obama or Hillary?  Because of one city in the entire USA?  That's the best he could come up with?  Laughable.  

There isn't a politician in the world who could fix everything for everyone's desired outcome.  I don't listen to Kanye's music or follow his social media. I find it somewhat ironic that he would support trump, but then again they have similarities.   He definitely has the right to voice and post his opinions freely.
