I am currently waiting for NVC to receive my case, and send me the case #.

So my question is, after I get the case #, will NVC send an email to my US fiance (package 3?) Once I have all documents ready, do I need to send an email (package 4) to Sydney to advise? Do I have a chance to choose my interview date, or will Sydney embassy schedule date for me?

Thank you for your help.

Hi ..NVC will send an email to  your US fiance that they have received the approved petition already, they will give the case #. Then you have to visit https://ceac.state.gov/ceac/ to
complete Form DS-160, the online nonimmigrant visa application that is used for a K1 visa.  Case # is needed to complete the DS 160 .

Then US Consulate will sent an instruction to your Petitioner that they have received the approved petition .( In my case it was after 3 days when the US Consulate received the approved petition. )They will instruct you to create a profile via USTravelDocs and have to pay the application fee of USD 265. Once that done, you need to email to support-australia@ustraveldocs.com for the following information :

1)      Name:
2)      Case number (begins with SYD):
3)      Email address:
4)      Online Nonimmigrant Visa application (DS-160):
o   DS-160 confirmation number
o   You MUST select SYDNEY as your place of interview
5)      MRV Fee receipt for K Visa applicants (USD265.00):
 Attached the receipt as well.

Within 1-2 days, Immigrant Visa Unit , US Consulate will sent K1 instruction & appointment package. They will give you your  Visa Appointment Date & Time. When you have you Visa Appointment already , you can then schedule your Medical Examination with the approved doctors.

Good Luck!

NVC does nothing with your petition. It's just a middle man between USCIS and the Embassy.

They send the petitions to the correct home country, provide a case number and that's it. Only spousal visas deal with NVC. You can call the NVC after two weeks if you want and ask for your case number. From then on, you can track your case online.
