Thank you, Sir, for this information! I will get started on it. How do you suggest constructing a letter to them? Do I just write my story in plain English and ask them to look into it? Do I need to send any evidence with the letter, etc.?

Yes. Fill out the Ombudsman form today - it's really easy and will immediately get the ball rolling on your case. Just tell them the facts - you filed ages ago, it's past processing time, you desperately need the card to be able to work. Say a few lines about the hardships you're facing.

After I submitted the Ombudsman form online, I got a generic email from them with a case number. THEN I replied to THAT email saying my EAD/AP was really overdue and it was very urgent that I get it asap. They replied saying they'd share it with the analyst on my case (and they did contact USCIS within a couple days of my request).

Sorry to hear about your experience so far. Looks like we're in the same boat. It is actually 11 months for me now.

What kind of RFIE for the I-765 have you gotten? What is that RFIE asking you about?
The only thing that I could see at the moment the InfoPass appointment has helped is to push the EAD case a bit forward, that is to expedite it. I now see the status of it has been updated that it's been processed. Haven't received anything in the mail yet. The person at the InfoPass appointment did say it the AP and EAD should have been done long time ago.

Oh my goodness 11 months?? wow... I'm not surprised that the person at the infopass said AP and EAD should've been done a long time ago... because it should have! lol I wish we could just talk directly to the person who supposedly has our case and complain and tell them we need it by tomorrow lol

Boop I meant that we got an RFIE on the I-131 and it was because I put in my information for the "preparer's info" on the back for my husband's I-131 and I'm not a third party or legal representative - so I didn't know I had to leave that blank. It was SO dumb because it was just my name and the same address used on the form which is the same as my husband's address and the RFIE was to confirm if we wanted it sent to the preparer's address WHICH IS THE EXACT ADDRESS they sent our RFIE ugh I sent in a new I-131 and on the last part where it asks for preparer's info - I left it blank and sent it in like that with a copy of the RFIE. They received it and notified us that our case is no longer on hold. But it's crazy because I've been sending service requests for the EAD not the AP. I just feel like our case got lost or forgotten and it's very frustrating.

And I know I made that same mistake for the EAD form and I haven't received anything but I feel like there's not much we can do. Maybe setting up an infopass appointment can help push our case...we contacted the Ombudsman and they sent an email saying they're waiting from a response from USCIS. Maybe I'll try what @Hamilton did of emailing the Ombudsman back demonstrating urgency.

Just got a status update: "we are ready to schedule your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, Receipt Number XXXX, for an interview."

I was hoping for no interview and simply getting the card in the mail after such a long wait.

How long does it take for the interview to be scheduled?

Interview waivers for AOS from K-1 are no longer available, so there will be an interview.

So everyone will go through the interview from now on?

Until the policy or law changes, yes.

A quick search of VJ timelines supports this (barring a small handful of people that likely didn't update their timelines fully, or got IOs that didn't catch the memo :P)

Has it been announced by USCIS? I wonder why that happened.

There was some talk of it a while back (like almost a year ago?) in some live sessions they had with the public. But the first I saw of anything official was on the USCIS policy guide changing the criteria for a waiver.
