Income Requirement: When should we apply?

Hey everyone! Relatively new here and first post made, so will provide a little background.  I am a US citizen and my partner is a British citizen, we recently decided to change our original plans of my going over to him and instead bring him to the US on the K1.  We have been reading up on the K1 process and realize that it can take a while before anything is heard back but my question currently revolves around the Income Requirements.  I recently started a new job that will allow me to make and/or exceed the guidelines whereas last years taxes wont. My main question is this: Now that I have been working at this new job since March, do we need to wait until tax time or can we start the process before the end of the year. Im not sure which would be better at ensuring they can see that I meet the income requirements to sponsor him.  So do I wait until beginning of 2019, or is it ok to file at any point in time?  I am also hourly paid, if that makes a difference.

Getting through the process for UK specific cases is generally easy. The financial documentation will not be needed in your application. It will be given to your fiancé for their interview day. London is usually willing to accept a tax transcript, an employer letter, or pay stubs as additional financial evidence for that day. They also allow for self-sponsorship if the UK fiancé has a significant amount of savings. Beyond that though, the process does allow for co-sponsorship if there is any question of lack of funds.

Great! Thank you so much! I wasnt 100% sure on the income requirement information being needed with the packet or not so figured I would ask! Hes currently here with me atm, returns to the UK on Friday  So its nice to get a general idea of when we are going to start the process
