It don't matter where you live when you file. They just want to draw money from a US bases bank account, that's all.

Please don't give out incorrect information.

I maintain an active USA bank account, there is sufficient funds in it for the cheque also.

One problem could be that i didn't have my original cheque book with me, so i made my own check using Microsoft Word. I put my routing and account number, I made the check look like a the real thing. and I did this because when i called my bank in USA they told me that I could create my own cheque page.

This information is extremely wrong.

You can apply from outside of US and the noa1 will come, although it takes time. And you will need to prove domicile later at the interview stage.

As said above the bank you used etc is a different issue. Do you know if the petition reached them or if your money has been withdrawn.

even in local cases sometimes it takes up to 3-4 weeks to get noa1.

I know petition package have reached the destination in Texas, Because I got a Fedex notification, I checked my bank account and saw that they didn't withdraw the cheque. money is not taken as of now.

Not withdrawn is an issue.

They may reject it because of this as they may consider "not paid"

So first you will most likely see the money withdrawn then there would be the talk about noa1.but if it reached at 6 and no money withdrawn, this may equal to either rejections and they are sending back the petition. Or they will take a little bitlonger to verify your cheque because of its unique status (it is probably rare for them to see it that way I think)

Ok so all you can do at this stage is to wait. You can wait 2 more weeks as it can take up to 4 weeks in some cases and if not the rejection will come as a notice. One or the other and I hope you made copies of everything just in case? If you have time and would like to you can get one more set ready to go just in case while arranging some sort of payment system

Not to say this is the case, but when I got my package rejected, I didn't receive any notification at all and I also submitted a g-1145.  I just got the package back with the rejection letter in it.

Hi LanKei,

How long did it take for you to receive your package back? between the date your sent and received back?

Hi,

i copied this from my post :)

UPDATE: If anyone is wondering for future, We mailed the wrong form out 4/6, FedEx delivered 4/8, and we got the package rejected and returned today, 4/19.  So about 11 days we received the returned package.  I did not get a rejection email or letter or anything besides what was in the returned package (I797).  We will be sending it out again tomorrow.  I triple checked everything myself.  Thank you everyone for your comments and I hope this helps someone in the future.
