if shes pregnant, it might become an advantage for green card interview, to prove bona fide marriage. But for K1 the only exception if you are active duty and getting deployed soon, they might expedite the process

I was pregnant when the petition was filed and gave birth during the process. Not something you contact USCIS to update them about at all.

If the child is born before your fiancé gets to the US, you must file a CRBA (consular report of birth abroad) to establish citizenship, and therefore the child does not require a K2 visa for the US as they will have US citizenship. You need to provide evidence you have lived in the US prior to your child’s birth. In our case (Canada) they asked for 5 years of my fiancé’s school records which we had to send after. Something to be aware of is that a requirement for the CRBA in our case was that my fiancé be present. Not a problem for us as I live close to him in Canada, but may be a little trickier for you if your fiancée lives abroad.

And while a pregnancy is not something USCIS typically cares about, we did include our daughter (pictures of us all together, her birth certificate and CRBA with both our names listed as the parents) in the updated evidence portion of our packet 3 documents (stage before the interview), but we are including other evidence as well. Some people (lots of people) have mistakenly thought a pregnancy would be all USCIS would need to be satisfied of a legitimate relationship. Not so.

Best of luck.

IMO the government does not care whether you have a child or not and does not give the child any extra weight as a bonafide evidence of marriage.  If being pregnant or having a child improves the odds of approval then everyone would be falling pregnant like rabbits. A baby does not help or hurt the odds. If this was the case then couples that don't have any child or can't have children would be denied and that would be plain discrimination. In my case, we don't have children yet and never had any problem during the process (from K1 to almost N400). And never were asked about it.

A pregnancy only proves that 2 people had sex, not that their relationship is genuine. People lie for a GC and God knows some people would be capable of bringing a child into this world just to prove something or get any benefit from it.

Having a baby does help, my fiance went to his interview and pretty much they only looked at our baby pictures.... and then when I got a call from the embassy the lady I spoke to mentioned that we have a baby together!

I did sent ultrasound pictures in the initial application.... and when the interview came along he took pictures of him an the baby doing video chat... so it might not speed up the process but they will know their is a baby without the other parent.

My fiance had her interview 14 days after our daughter was born, didnt change a thing during the process. What was a pain in the ###, was to get my daughter her us citizenship we had to do a dna test because the officer said "your daughter looks to asian to be yours" so after about $1,000 us dollars later she will get her citizenship and passport in about 3 - 4 weeks from now.

Congratulations and good luck with your case . Yes everyone is right the pregnancy wouldn’t really make a difference with the outcome of your case , however when she gets prepared for her interview they will ask for more proof of the relationship and of course her medical records stating that she is pregnant will be good proof of a legitimate relationship .

Yeah, sure, because being pregnant and giving birth is a walk in the park, right. :rolleyes::rolleyes:

That isn't really the point.  Lots of these couples going through immigration seem to be hyper fertile, I'm not sure they've even thought ahead as to how hard it will be to be pregnant while separated or have a child without your spouse there.  You honestly believe they think or care how hard pregnancy is in general?  Or most people do (as most pregnancies are accidental)?

It's pretty easy to prevent pregnancy.  While my child wasn't planned, I managed to not have another one in the last 15 years by taking precautions.  If you take all precautions and still end up pregnant, well it was just meant to be.  I dont understand why married (and long term relationship) couples are against condoms (I feel like Americans in general are anti-condom for some dumb reason) or using multiple types of birth control.  Children are expensive.  You are also denying the other parent the chance to be apart of an important relationship aspect of you aren't actively preventing pregnancy.  I do understand that some religions forbid birth control.  But even then you should consider the wellbeing of yourself, a potential fetus, and your significant other.  While not as reliable there are other methods.

Anyhow.. OP before you worry why not just find out if you ARE going to be a father or not first?

How do you know the baby helped? My husband and I have no children and at 42 (as I was at the interview) and my husband 8 years older, children are unlikely to happen. I was approved on the spot. No mention was made of the lack of children in our marriage. We went through the whole process with no RFEs, no AP, without children.

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

. In our case it seemed like they focused on our baby more? Not sure why, maybe it was just the CO.  My intial packet, I made sure my supporting documents were strong so their was no doubt of our relationship, therefore she asked him questions about the baby and she even asked him for our baby's pictures. Soooo maybe it was just our CO, not all COs are the same.
