Hi guys,

 

i just got into a little fender bender with a co worker on the company parking lot. Nothing serious except for bumper damage. My car is insured through the company and I really think she did not look carefully and bumped into me.

 

Police report has to get filed now, waiting for officer to arrive, insurance purposes only !!!

 

 

what do I need to do now ???? Can this bring my n-400 in trouble ??? Expecting interview notice shortly and am very worried !!! I really think she backed into me !!! 

 

Super freakig out now !!!

Are you serious ? You're freaking out about little accident where someone bumped into your car ?? Absolutely no reason to. If you had bumped into someone, ran away and then got caught you could have had a reason to worry... Not in this case...

Unless the officer issues a ticket, it will have absolutely no bearing on your case and not be brought up. Even then, a traffic violation is not a cause for denial anyway.

No one can become a citizen if they've ever been involved in a fender bender.  It's up there with being a concentration camp guard and/or a member of the communist party.  Now that we got that out of the way, just relax.

Fender bender is not lack of moral character. There is nothing to worry about. Almost everyone has some traffic incidences in their lifetime. In my interview, the IO was only interested if the 3 traffic tickets I had were not from reckless driving and if they were paid off. Didn't even ask for the documents. But, I declared everything in my form though. If you get citation, irrespective of whatever it is, you should declare it and add documentation that it was paid off or disposed by the judge. Making a mistake is not a lack of moral character but hiding it from USCIS definitely is.

Unless the cop wrote you some citation, you're good to go, at best it may put a point or two on your auto insurance and cause a rate increase (maybe, not sure how bump ups work in company insured cars).

 

The police report, just get a copy and bring it with you to your interview, they are ready in 2-4 days. If you get a citation, handle it ASAP and bring proof it was taken care of. Side note, most parking lot run ins involving dual backing are deemed to be both parties fault unless there are cameras to be checked. Been there, done that, recently.

**Adjusting from initial Q1/changed to B1 then overstay, termination of removal proceedings**

First met: Totally random by asking for directions, June 2014 while on vacation at Disney World (L)

Engaged: Aug. 21, 2014

Married: Dec. 1, 2014

ICE phone contact: sometime in early Dec. 2014- Co-operated, retained attorney who advised the same.

Filed stand alone i-130: January 2015 (VSC)

ICE home visit, schedule time to go to DHS office and NTA issued, date TBD, was not detained and released on own recognizance within an hour: January, 2015.

NOA1: Feb. 20, 2015.

Transfer to CSC to balance workloads: August 2015

1)First Master Calendar Hearing: Sept. 9, 2015-Continued based on pending i-130, new court date in 6mo.

Congressional Inquiry: Dec 8. 2015

***i-130 APPROVED WITHOUT INTERVIEW: Dec. 21, 2015** :dancing:

2)Second Master Hearing: March 9, 2016- Removal proceedings terminated w/o prejudice based on approved i-130!! Remanded to USCIS to begin AOS process :dance:

(AOS AFTER TERMINATION)

Filed AOS packet: March 16, 2016.

NOA1: March 21, 2016.

Biometrics: April 20, 2016.

RFE Initial evidence: April 21, 2016 for birth cert/translation and Q1/B1 i94s

RFE response received: May 10, 2016.

EAD approval: May 25, 2016- Card arrived at attorney's office! Could not pick up until May 30 because we were at Disney World again :):D

Notice of missing medical exam: July 2016 (Done on purpose to avoid expiration, we will bring it to the interview as stated in notice)

Inquiry about case status: Sept 2016- Case pending interview at local office.

Inquiry about case status again: Oct. 2016- Due to factors not related to your case, anticipate a delay in processing
