It really does vary. I filed for my husband (Tunisia) in May 2016 and he had his visa in hand by December (7 months) of the same year. Apparently we were one of the lucky ones.

Your post just motivated me

My God is bigger than the USCIS or the American embassy, and He can make all things possible for me

OK, I see. Then call your God to help you. Because both UCSIC and American embassy won't make it happen for you in a month or two. Only in 11-14 months.

He can compress that Time and make it happen next month,He owns time

Not really. But this is offtopic here.

but I will give my testimony next month here on this page when I get called for an interview

You will not be called for your interview next month because this process takes longer time. You will be called next spring, March-April-May 2019. Not 2018.

someone commented  that their application took 7 months, so I think the impossible is possible.

Every case is different. Given the fact you're from Nigeria, it may be tough. They have very tough embassy to deal with. And your God will not change it no matter how much you want it.

That post is just setting you up for a big diapointment.. The number of immagration petitions have sky rocketed since our last presidential election.

Iike others have said..

Your wait is going to be at least 10 -12 months.

Potomac is the fastest office , while Nebraska is the slowest.

Would you happen to know which office your petition is at?

This was two years ago... we are looking at complete different processing times now. My K1 fiancée visa took 4.5 months... now it takes double as long. I refrain to post my processing times on the current K1 processing update threads because I feel like that is just spreading unrealistic expectations for the current visa filers. You can't compare your processing times from back then to now.

Based on other people's timelines, the process for me was extremely quick.  I have my interview next week....295 after we first started the process.  That is around 10 months.

It is a combination of luck and due diligence that determines how quick it is, I think. I got a case complete in under 8 months from filing and I am waiting for my interview.

Watch out for my testimony. My all powerful God has this.

Ok, we will all be waiting for your testimony.

Okay, May16, 2017 file date...and we just got RFE for NVC (Nigeria police certificate). My husband did not send the fingerprint card...Now we have to wait on that...We are in April..2018...So realistically, the time line is correct...The file was at Nebraska...I am frustrated at times but you have to be patient...Facetime, whatsapp, came in handy and I recorded everyday moment we had..So I use those to get me through hard moments...

Hello good day guys, I am Kingsley from Abuja Nigeria, my wife filed for me to come to the US around January ending, next month will make it 4 months since we applied, me and my wife are hoping that I will be called for the interview next month, we know that it takes up to 6 month's but someone told us that it takes 4 months but America will tell you 6 months because sometimes there can be some issues and the files might not be ready in the 4 month so to be on a safe side they prefer to tell you 6 months.

So I want to ask, how long does it really takes to be approved from the US side? And I also want to ask , how much does it cost in Nigeria to do a medical report and police report?

If your still waiting for approval on your petition from USCIS, there is no way you will have an interview next month. Once you get that approval, your case is sent to the NVC which will take about 3 months....mailing case there, inputting case number, paying fees, submit additional financial documents, and at that point your police clearance. Once that is done, the NVC will schedule your interview. When that will happen depends on how busy your interview is.

I know it’s frustrating and I know it’s expensive. Believe me I know because I traveled to Ghana 5 times in 2 years in order to get my husband here. While you wait, make sure you have amazing evidence with plenty of quality proof of your relationship. Nigeria is much like Ghana and it’s not an easy embassy to get through.

The US embassy in Lagos Nigeria is not as tough as the one you have in Accra Ghana.

Spousal visas in Nigeria gets over 90%-95% approval rate.

Maybe, although both are generally considered in the top 3 most difficult consulates.

Do you have a source for that statistic? I've always tried to pull approval / refusal rate info for immigrant visas but came up empty.

I hope your wife has or will spend quality time visiting you in Nigeria / this really is not only the way to keep this process from driving you crazy but that embassy is hard

You are not quaranteed an approval

Read the nigerian reviews and get help from the ones going thru the Nigerian embassy

what happens in non high fraud coutires is not much help to you

At the top of the home page there is a place called portal / if you are signed in,  it will take you directly to the Nigerian site / and read some embassy reviews /add some others going thru Nigeria to a friends list and watch their progress

Good luck

Subtle shade.
