I was just about to ask if people usually get a touch or two before then namecheck is done.. I'm not one to obsess over touches usually, but now I've found myself checking it daily! I'm sure I'll get bored eventually..

actually that IS what we have seen, touches prior to completion... but my online status still says that my interview was cancelled/descheduled. i somehow doubt i wwill get touched at the end, but stranger things have happened! and yeah, i rarely check anymore. its always the same.

Ah well, they're still waiting on our tax returns anyway... Got an infopass appointment on Monday so maybe a miracle will happen and they'll have some good news! If it wasn't for the fact that it's so annoying I'd quite enjoy being a part of this little group :)

our last touch for the EAD was 11/15/2006 and our last touch on the other cases was 1/15/2007--when they told us we were "descheduled"

Shamelessly they also tell us that all cases are PENDING and received last year!

I-485 , I-765, I-130: NOA1 : 1/23/2006

Biometrics 2/23/2006

Temporary EAD given for 1 month ONLY b/c of Infopass appt: 5/1/2006

Went back to renew EAD through Infopass: EAD card was not given "due to reasons we can't disclose"

5/3/2007: Confirmation that EAD is delayed due to background checks. (started to use the senator, ombudsman and was just a royal pain in the neck)

5/30/2007: EAD production ordered (after over 400 days of waiting!!! woo hoo!)

AOS Interview: 5/12/2008!!! FINALLLYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

7/29/2008: card production ordered...918 days..can't wait to see that card!

We called the customer service again in January and we then received a letter saying the case is in review and a decision will be sent within 90 days on the action. We haven't received that before, do you think they mean action on our request asking what is happening with the case or are they saying the AOS will be decided by then?

Congragulations Traditions Way!! Very good news for you!

I'm curious what the difference is between the namechecks that we go through during the K-1 visa process and these one's for AOS. It would seem more reasonable to me to do a more thorough check prior to letting someone in the country, than after they are already here.

I am just looking at my portfolio on the USCIS website. I haven't had any status changes, therefore no actual emails, but my case's last updated date (touch) was 7/27/07 but seems to just be a verbiage change.

i haven't seen this verbiage before... hopefully its a good thing! if this letter is a result of a service request, then your verbiage is better than mine! mine simply says your case has been delayed, and is not ready for processing at this time.... hopefully this is nearing your end - it has been far too long!

visa security checks are done by the DOS and stateside checks are done by the DHS. They only really check someone out if they are from a "list of 26" countries which has had terrorism ties. Otherwise police reports are all the consulate requires. Also the check stateside (AOS) is checking names here for any hits (and as I and others have been told home countries as well - although it has been disputed).
