Just found out that we are stuck in FBI namecheck hell again. We went through 5 months just for the K1, so I'm sure we will be sitting in it for a lot longer this time around......

is there a mis-conceptions about FBI namecheck? everyone goes through this, and just because CSC hasn't produced a greencard in 4 weeks does not mean someone is *stuck*, average processing time according to VJ stats as well as this thread, for NOA1 to greencard ordering averages is around 180-200 days.

statistics show that *most* checks are completed in 60 days, and all but around 1-2% are completed in 6 months.

please don't take this as picking on you carshel, i have just seen this post several times.

When did I ever say that I expected a green card to be produced in 4 weeks? I know very well that everyone goes through secutiry checks at every stage of the game. All I'm saying is that given my husband's name and country of origin, I am sure it will take a lot longer this time around just like it took a long time just for the visa.

I certainly hope you are not one of the long-runners, you waited a crazy amount of time for your visa. I just want to point out that the AR/AP seems to have nothing to do with winding up on a long-running FBI namecheck. You can see several examples of those who went through AR/AP with absolutely no problems AOS'ing (thankfully!). For the record, on this site anyway, there are a whole lot more UK members stuck in this part of the process.

The thing that seems to upset so many is the recent amount of fast approvals. Yes, I know everyone goes through name checks too. I've always known that. I for one don't understand how some names seem to take so bloody long. It does feel as if one is *stuck* when this goes on for months while others zip right by you. IMHO there could be a more efficient way of doing these name checks, where one doesn't have to wait months or even years for their GC approval. *sigh*

guys it looks like the politicians are listening to us! it is such an important time to be calling our senators and congresspeople. new legislation is set to be put in motion very soon, and its the best time to advice your elected officials what is important to you, and how you are being affected.

Right now we are not reported at all. We are taken out of the stats. If nothing else this would make the numbers be known.
