All evidence in this thread indicates the namecheck is ordered shortly after your NOA1. As to who orders it, I have no idea, but I doubt it's your Adjudicating Officer.

English names. Nothing more, nothing less. Higher odds of a namehit in the FBI databases - especially when Soundex is applied.

Donna, do you believe that? I mean - how do people get approved at the interview if that's correct?

At any rate, our senator's office was able to tell us when Wes' was ordered. Have you tried that?

haha...you are joking right about the senator? first of all i contacted the senators office and they told me immigration is not thier job call someone else. so i called the congressman and he had the nerve to tell me that he checked into things and said...well i believe u will get the green card sooner then later. if u dont hear anything in a few months call me back. i called back and he sent me some stupid brochure on fbi name checks and said sorry all u can do is wait and dont worry there are many who have been waiting longer then ur husband. thanks for the help mr. congressman's assistant.

do i believe what they said...as screwed up as the system is...yes. after all they scheduled us for our interview before our paperwork even got to them so why wouldnt they wait for the name checks til after the interview?
