AOS interview successful, but waiting for FBI name check

My wife's case was finally touched today after 6 months of FBI name check limbo. A nice Valentine's Day surprise.

It was indeed good news as we got the email today saying that the welcome letter was mailed yesterday. We should have the green card in 60 days or less!

Yippee!

Great news -- congrats! I think touches are often good signs -- 2 touches in a row especially

Not for me - my touch on January 15th appears to be bogus. Absolutely nothing has happened since then and we are still waiting.

I am wondering if anyone knows if medical has to be done again if this FBI namecheck takes too long? I've read that biometrics expire in 15 months. EAD has to be renewed before it expires - obviously. Anything else that has to be done again?

No one on this list has reported having to get a new medical to complete processing. Most do have to get new biometrics taken, but if you look at the list, many of the members are approved in much less time than would require new biometrics to be taken.

I know I should, but I don't have too much hope that my name check will be done anytime soon. I lived in 3 different contries and it will probably take them a while to check all of that.

i really dont think anyone needs to worry about being temorarily *black holed* until they reach 200 days. Its pretty rare as you can see from the stats from VJ for people to stay stagnant for longer than that.

this data is based on the exact number of days from NOA1 to AOS approval.

i thinik my last chart was a bit confusing so I created a new one. this only charts people who finally got their greencards and since we know that namecheck is initiated at some point around the NOA1, I used NOA1 date to approval date to graph. Each bar is an individual person's actual journey (the names were below, but it took up alot of space).

Basically it took 1 person 54 days from NOA1 and another person 843 days. I did not chart those who were still waiting as thats like chasing a moving target. Like I said before, average is around 200 days, and even VJ stats are similar for those who get their greencard approvals at the interview.

wouldnt u think that if a person had a name hit and they were "wanted" in another country that our fbi would turn them over to that country? i would think that country would say...yes he/she is wanted for murder and now we know where to find them...send there butt back so we can try them!!!!

a name hit should be a easy thing and i cant see any govt. withholding info if that were the case. ive been told that other countries are the ones who dont reply to the fbi requests and thats what holds things up expecially if that country is not an ally to the usa.
