AOS interview successful, but waiting for FBI name check

I'm working on compiling a list of various data bases that are part of the main data bases that are used for immigration security purposes. So far I have identified that IBIS contains information contributed by INTERPOL. The FBI also checks a foreign fugitve file (however there are not many records in this) and a database of people wanted by the RMCP.

06/01/2009- Received Biometrics Letter

06/18/2009 - Biometrics

09/23/2009 - date of decision to approve (letter received), just waiting for card. No online updates whatsoever.

Thanks Yodrak,

I've read most of those sites, now I am working on finding out what other data bases they may use. It states that they maintain the authority to do other checks in addition to the three ones described as being part of the background check process.

I can't find anything on US related immigration sites that says that US Immigration uses CPIC, but on the Canadian RCMP site it says that information from CPIC is shared with US immigration, so mainly I am looking for some of the more obscure places that they may access as part of the background check.

When you read these links and any others you may find, note the differences. Some refer to consular processing - different from what we in this thread are involved in now.

Visa Mantis and Visa Condor are used by DOS at the consular level. I've yet to see reference to these checks for AOS.

well I've scheduled an Infopass appointment for next week - I don't expect anything to come of it, but it's now over 4 months since the interview and it's making my my pre-holidays blues a little more bluer.

Let us know what they say.

If they give you the normal run-around, tell them there's more coal for their stockings where that came from.

My husband and I went away for a long weekend and we get back to find his green card came (which is more yellow than green)!!! YAY!!!!!!! Turns out we've been approved since December 1 :D We are DONE!!!! :dancing:
