i would agree with this now also... once i realized fingerprinting has nothing to do with namecheck, i realized it would be generated after NOA1 at some point.

Have not heard from senators office for a while. I guess after reelection maybe not so much priority now.

As this email is from my Senator's office, and attaches the name of both his liason and Michael Cannon, FBI, I take this information to be accurate. Thus I believe we have our answer as to when namecheck begins - nearly immediately after filing and before biometrics.

I remember reading a thread where someone else said that their namecheck had started prior to their biometrics, but it's nice to hear some sort of secondary confirmation on that topic. We had to push our biometrics back about five weeks, and I wasn't sure whether it had affected our timeline at all. In retrospect, perhaps not.

With all due respect though, your biometrics 'pushback' wouldn't have affected your case anyway. You were a CSC transfer. A careful inspection of this thread and the CSC transfer thread will reveal that even those CSC cases who are caught in namecheck aren't waiting as long as the non-CSC members of this thread.

I've spent a fair bit of time watching both threads, and that's been my conclusion as well. I'm very grateful to be a CSC transfer, but I'll feel more fortunate (as I'm sure we all will) when I know I won't need to be in contact with the USCIS for a good long while. In the meantime, it's always good to have a bit more insight into this black box process.

Best wishes for a speedy conclusion to this process for all of you. I know most of you have been waiting far longer than I have.

Oh, the waiting always stinks, no matter who you are or how long your personal timeline really is.

I've never ever been one to see the point in complaining about cases getting approved ahead of others. The regional oddities of USCIS offices, plus the clear lack of a 'first in - first out' process makes bellyaching about such things pointless.

My gripe with what I'm seeing at CSC is that, IMHO, the CSC cases are CLEARLY being given priority over others. It's very very discouraging. Our cases with the 'black hole' effect now seem to be in a 'black box' that has been nailed shut.

So this is what I dont understand.

My friend who lives in California (I am in NYC) just got her green card in mail.

And all of you my fellow black holers please sit down.

She filed early September 2006 had their interview October 31 got her green card this morning. Total processing time 3 months.

Dont get me wrong I am so so so happy for her not to mentioned she was here illegaly for 5 years so finaly she can go home but in the same time where the h*ll is my green card. Seriously.

Just to triple confirm the start date of the name check (I still check in on this thread to cheer you all on).

We filed for AOS May 15

Biometrics was June 13

We were told at the interview that the name check was initiated June 1.

Ggrrr had enough, this name check wait is just bollocks. I have just emailed my local senator and told him i have been waiting 17 months and would he see what the hold up is..... for all the good it will do!!
