Another name check refugee is released!!!

We are not even going to count how many days it's been since her application was originally received (12/2004)....today we had about 8 e-mails stating the same thing:

Application Type: I485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status

Current Status:

On September 25, 2006, a welcome notice was mailed for this case. If 30 days have passed and you have not received this notice. Please call the National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283 during business hours.

It's about time!!!!!!

January 20th - TSC recieves AOS packet along with EAD petition

January 24th - Recieved NOA1 for AOS and EAD

February 15 - RFE for I-485...request another copy of birth certificates.

March 9, 2006 - Notice that the RFE Documents were received by USCIS

March 10, 14, and 15th 2006 - I-485 TOUCHED!!!

March 23, 2006 - Recieved Biometrics appointment for April 14th for AOS/EAD!!

April 14, 2006 - I-485 and I-765 TOUCHED!! April 18, 2006 - I-485/AOS - TOUCHED!

April 20, 2006 - I-765/EAD APPROVED!! (90th day!) April 24, 2006 - EAD card ARRIVED!!!

April 25, 2006 - Went to apply for SSN...told to come back May 12th!?!

June 9, 2006 - Hubby received Social Security Card! - July 19, 2006 - AOS Touched!

July 28, 2006 - Received Interview Letter! Interview is August 24th - 9:30am

August 24, 2006 - Interview. Approved pending infamous FBI check...

September 27, 2006 - Received welcome letter!

September 30, 2006 - Rcv'd e-mail (3) that the green card has been ordered.

October 5, 2006 - Green card received with error!!!

October 6, 2006 - Sent I-90 form - they received it October 10, 2006

November 17, 2006 - Infopass...received temp I-551 stamp good for one year.

December 19, 2006 - Received corrected green card!

July 1, 2008 - Mailed I-751 to Texas Service Center

July 3, 2008 - TSC received I-751 packet....the wait begins!

July 9, 2008 - TSC cashed I-751 check.

July 12, 2008 - Recieved NOA1 - 1 year extension letter. - July 30, 2008 - Rcv'd Biometric Appt for 8/21/08

April 13, 2009 - Recieved approval for 10 year green card!!

Sorry if this has already been covered, but I am wondering if anyone waiting for namechecks to be completed was given a phone number in order to inquire about status. At the interview we were told that there was nothing we could do except wait , it would take between 2 weeks and 2 years! Thanks in advance .

Well, I don't know of anyone being given a phone number.

Our office gave us an e-mail address for correspondence with them, which seems to be a pretty rare courtesy.

10 year GC Approved - APRIL 16th ,2009 - Peggy and Jonathan's......

Still waiting for our cards...Had to file I-90 as they sent them to the wrong address.

March 9th, 2010, Received GC that has been lost in the mail for 10 months. Still waiting for my son's that is lost as well.

Filed Waiver for my son's 10 year GC and it was approved. He finally received his GC after its been missing for 2 years.

Thanking God this is over for 10 years.

To all of those still waiting for the FBI name check, please make sure that you received the confirmation status e-mail and/or on-line status update stating that your biometrics had been recd and processing will continue. This should have been updated within a few weeks after your initial biometrics appointment.

If you did not receive the update after biometrics (or even if you did!) PLEASE call the FBI fingerprint status number (I believe it is 1-304-625-2000 but it may have changed) and request status. This is to make sure your BIOMETRICS was received. (not your name check) The FBI still gives status on biometrics, but not on namechecks.

I sincerely believe that the delay for Carina was due to the biometrics being "lost"or done incorrectly, and her file just sat on a desk until I contacted several people to have the delay looked into. Once I did that her namecheck was requested, and then new fingerprints ordered and then she had her approval.

The reason I noticed this is because my wife DID get the update after biometrics (and she was approved at the interview) while Carina did NOT get the update (biometrics were the same day as her mother's) and unknowingly we waited for 11 months for an approval thinking it was the namecheck that was the problem, when in my opinion the actual problem was the "missing" biometrics.

I am not saying the relation between the biometrics and namecheck is the reason for all the delays, but I really think it is worth checking into.

its now day 96 no EAD no Travel Docs :( no notice that my biometrics was recieved., actually when i went to uscis and they said that my file was transfered (9/26) to NBC , i didnt get a status update saying that it was transfered? i also never got a notice when it was first moved from NBC to Santa Ana... is that normal?

ill call for the fbi bio check on monday

6/21/2006 - sent i130.i485,i131,i765,biometrics, sponsor

6/23/2006 - recieved by MSC

6/27/2006 - notice date on NOA

7/26/2006 - fingerprinting

recieived notice for interview... duno when

9/2/2006 - all apps touched

9/13/2006 - interview. waiting for bkground, no approve.deny case will be reviewed as my case in more complicated., i1131, i485 sepereated from file, claimed that they will be sent for processing

9/22/2006 - called national customer support., been 90 days, no interim ead (i knew i wldnt have it yet) was told to go to santa ana

9/26/2006 - office claims file is floating around somewhere in the mail room, they will find my work permit app and travel doc app and send it for processing

9/26/2006 - drive to LA to double check what they said, office at LA claims that santa ana sent work p, travel to NBC

9/27/2006 - EAD, Travel docs touched

9/28/2006 - EAD, Travel docs tocuhed

9/29/2006 - :( nothing touched, no letters no emails :(:( ---- waiting., will send letter to congressman monday

10/2/2006 - Travel Docs Touched, nothing new on EAD....Wife sent letter to congressman

10/2/2006 - Got Travel Doc in the mail

10/2/2006 9:30 PM PST, 5 email ead approved, will mail me new card

10/6/2006 10:30 AM PST, got 3 emails saying that they have mailed out an approval letter for my EAD... hmmm wheres the damn EAD,

10/7/2006 - Got EAD with a TYPO in a#!!!! in the mail

zxed--if it's been past 90 days since you applied for EAD, you can make an infopass appointment and they will issue the EAD on the spot.

that is not necessarily the case. A memorandum came out effective 9/1/06 that local offices no longer provide interim EAD's, however its not that cut and dry. Some offices have been reported as stating effective 10/1/06 and some offices will still give you an interim. Mostly I have seen (based on posts in the EAD forum) people being turned away.

ah...well, that's lovely. this is me, standing corrected.

we have an infopass appointment scheduled again next week...on Oct. 3rd...just because by then we will be more than 45 days since they told us we were through name check and the welcome letter was on its way. the waiting....it's getting old.
