K-1/K-2 AOS APPROVED IN ATLANTA MAY 17, 2006

10 year GC Approved - APRIL 16th ,2009 - Peggy and Jonathan's......

Still waiting for our cards...Had to file I-90 as they sent them to the wrong address.

March 9th, 2010, Received GC that has been lost in the mail for 10 months. Still waiting for my son's that is lost as well.

Filed Waiver for my son's 10 year GC and it was approved. He finally received his GC after its been missing for 2 years.

Thanking God this is over for 10 years.

9/2/06 - Interview. Michael charms his way through the US Embassy in record time...then has to go back after they forget to take his receipt for the fee. Still...VICTORY

23/2/06 - Michael arives at LAX, babbles nonsense at customs officers. Eyebrows are raised

Going to get my stamp tomorrow morning...Officer Alvarez called this afternoon and my namecheck is cleared!!! YEAH!! Green card should be in hand in 2-3 weeks...I hope everyone else gets cleared soon!

Well, as I reported Friday in another thread, the Senator's office phoned Wes at home. They accidentally called me here again at work today. Accidentally because it was another aide who called and didn't realize we had already received information on Friday. I guess I can't complain because at least they are on top of it, eh?

At any rate, I am more probing than my darling husband, so while we don't have any improvement in our situation, I did at least learn a bit more about the process.

As you probably already know, they turn the name about all sorts of ways to run the check (reversal of name order, use of initials, etc). The check is domestic (FBI, etc) as well as international (IBIS).

Here's the part that's new to me. Your elected representative (or their aide most likely) contacts a USCIS liason. The liason looks into the actual USCIS records. They do NOT contact your service center. An inquiry by a liason is considered 'higher up' the food chain than a query by someone at the service center. As you might guess, the records the liason are able to access are not at all the same as what you and I see on USCIS.gov. It's much more detailed. A notation is placed into the file that the elected representative has inquired - hopefully this prevents the 'black hole' effect.

that sounds very interesting...

especially cause some people say that once the background check is pending even senators office would not be able to help because technicaly it is outside of USCIS handeling...

Anyway... maybe that is step we have to try to take after all

Sept-15-2006 ~ AP renewal approved 247 days

Sept-21-2006 ~ EAD renewal approved 253 days

Sept-30-2006 ~ 2nd Biometrics appointment

June-18-2007 ~ E-filed yet another Work Permit and AP renewal :(

After 2 years, 6 moths and one day I have received this email:

Application Type: I485 , APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Current Status: Notice mailed welcoming the new permanent resident.

I came here on K-3. I-485 was filed in April 2005.

The first biometrics on June 3 2005, the second biometrics on April 21 2006.

AOS interviw in Chicago distric office on November 29 2005.Name check is pending.

Thanks..it's a good feeling...my passport is stamped and I just got all of the emails from CRIS..so it's definitely over for awhile!!!
