AOS interview successful, but waiting for FBI name check

Hi All,

Looks like my husband's namecheck is cleared.

Today I recieved three emails from USCIS that " On August 30, 2006, a welcome notice was mailed for this case."

I am really happy and I still can't believe its ture specially after hearing so many horror stories.

BTW funny thing is just today my husband had an infopass appointment and he was being told that his case is still pending and they can't tell him how long woudl it take to get resolved.

Anyway I pray for everyone that thier cases would get resovled soon.

Sounds like another case where the cleared name check was sitting at the local office without being processed until people complain/come in for infopass...

I don't mean to put you in any more stress but it seems like NYC is even worse than any other place in US.

I have been told at Infopass that NYC (my zip is 11106) is so backed up that after the interview they are sending applications all over the place. My has ended up in CA... go figure...

it we have 600 days filing anniversary tomorrow. It's pending on the background checks...

I want to say my name maiden and married are not that common.

Maybe we can get together after we get the greencards and drink our sorrows off :thumbs:

It's been super frustrating for me... I totally agree with the feeling of someone controlling your life...

lj, don't worry, I refuse to get more upset or worried about this. I have heard that NYC is atrocious at all of this because of the sheer volume of cases so Im not surprised. I think it's all a ####### shoot.

Have you tried an INFOPASS appointment? Your case is really really pending!

Yeah, Infopass and Help line and we even filed some sort of Status update something.

They told us that the application is pending on background checks... like I don't know that myself...

We have contacted a lawyer as well to ask we there is anything we can do and they told us to wait till year after the interview (oct 6/05 Garden City, NY) and then apparently we can file a law suite of some sort requesting a decision... not cheep...Anyway

My second EAD which BTW was issued only for 8 months will be expiring... so I guess I will have to apply yet again for another one... after 5 months of having this one... RIDICULOUS... SIGH

Sometimes I seriously wonder if this is ever going to end.
