11/14/05 - Consulate received the case!

12/16/05 - Received interview date by email!! : )

My interview date was also rescheduled for August 8th...sorry I just updated my timeline!

Thank you for adding me to the ever long list...on a side note I asked our officer why it seems that so many people are pending these name checks, and his answer was "It's the same reason that you have been given 2 different interview dates...people aren't working together"

E-mailed our district office yesterday and got a mail back today saying the check is still pending.

hehe - i just gave up trying to figure out Tampa's email address so I emailed Pittsburg :whistle:

I am sure they will give a canned response, but thought why not? :lol:

Reason #6 going to school for 10 years and becoming a doctor, then when you get to this country you obey all the rules spending thousands of dollars to pass the tests, but the final step is you must serve another 2 years as a resident, that's ok its the process. But guess what, you aren't very likely to get that residency spot without a green card. And almost 2 years later he is still waiting. Oh and the residency placements are only done once a year so if he doesn't have it by March, he will have to wait another year.
One other restriction is that, without a green card, you can't join the U.S. military. Similarly, you can't join the U.S. military to be an Officer if you're not already a citizen (which means delays for some people).

09/27/05: Posted I-129F to VSC

09/30/05: Received NOA1 from VSC

10/08/05: NVC receives I-129F from VSC

11/28/05: Medical completed in Dakar

11/30/05: Interview completed in Dakar

12/01/05: Received visa in Dakar

12/22/05: Arrived in the U.S. via JFK & received temp. EAD

12/28/05: Applied for SSN

12/29/05: Applied for marriage licence

01/07/06: Got married!

01/17/06: Received SSN (still waiting for actual card)

01/18/06: Started new job

01/18/06: Applied for Maine state ID

01/26/06: Sent EAD, AOS and AP applications to Chicago lockbox

01/28/06: Received Maine state ID

02/04/06: Received NOA1 for AOS and AP, sent in wrong check for EAD :(

10/25/04 Drivers license (IN requires permit for 60 days)

10/30/04 Married

12/7/04 AOS sent

1/05 Biometrics

5/23/05 AOS interview Approved pending FBI background check

1/06 EAD- (renewed )

AP- applied online took 6 weeks to receive

(we made all the request possible, but were told they could do nothing about how long the FBI was taking)

12/06 FBI background check finished after 2 years

7/07 after 7 months Indianapolis sends request for new bio metrics (made numerous inquiries to NSC and senator)

7/17/07 Bio metrics done again

8/8/07 Received request for further proof of relationship

8/13/07 Bills, photos, letters showing proof received by Indy

9/10/2007 Finally the card production and welcome letter email received

Well my son's name check has come back. We received the "Welcome to America Letter", now I got an email today telling me they sent his card back because they have the wrong address on it.

How dumb can they be. We sent in all the address change. Called and told them also. Roger received the letter back saying they got our address change. That letter had the correct address on it, but they cant put the correct address on the letter with my son's card in it. Piss me off.

They had a stupid type error. They put a 5 instead of a S.

They need to get with the program or get some glasses. :angry:

Still waiting for our cards...Had to file I-90 as they sent them to the wrong address.

March 9th, 2010, Received GC that has been lost in the mail for 10 months. Still waiting for my son's that is lost as well.

Filed Waiver for my son's 10 year GC and it was approved. He finally received his GC after its been missing for 2 years.

Thanking God this is over for 10 years.

warning *rant* ahead

Ok, so I am sitting here thinking, we see it here all the time VPW ----> AOS. I keep thinking ####### was I thinking??!!! Abdel had come for a business visit, and we decided we wanted to be married. We knew we had the option of K1/K3 (did not know about CR1/IR1)... so we consulted with a lawyer. He suggested we just AOS! Abdel had all ties back to CND, we had absolutely no intention of marrying when he entered, and futhermore his entrance was for business (just so happened to be here in my city). It all just didnt *sound* right to us... so back he went and we prusued the retarded K1.

After over 15 months for a #@%#&^ K1 visa (where we did FBI clearance), now BACK on FBI clearances after AOS, I have to think to myself ####### was I thinking.

/end rant.

I do constantly remind myself how lucky we are, and we definately ARE. Aside from our st00pid K1 journey, we have had many things turn out better for us. I just have to laugh and think back, wow and #######....

I just looked at my case status on the USCIS website and it says that the receipt number cannot be found. I know that this can probably mean anything, but I am hanging onto a bit of hope that it just might mean something good. I've checked my cases MANY, MANY times each day and this has never happened....
